Started my new F/T job this week :D

I've never had so much fun as I did yesterday. What the fuck was I thinking trying to fit into an office?

The best part was actually  's for realz! How could I not... Soccermom was too busy talking on the crackberry to get out of her escalade; and I had to go hook up the winch cable to that jersey barrier under her truck  I was on the ground... I was having a hell of a time keeping a straight face - figured why not?

I love my job :)

Hehe, yes Ken we know your beliefs. You've spewed your opinion quite a bit around here :)

I'm getting paid to play. Guess it all depends on perspective and life experiences.

You could give SAIT students heads up when City Wide gets called;)

Congrats on the new job, looking forward to many, many contributions to the spotted thread.

Towing some soccermom while she's still in the vehicle? WIN!

Well...when you work a 13 hour sunday for 50 bucks you might change your mind. I liked the work, not their pay scale, and I'll assume you will be on team 4 which leaves you with 1 weekend off every 5 weeks.
It is fun though. Tell Rob on 59 (the self loader) to call me, I lost my old phone and his number.

Heck no - that'd be unsafe. Just hauling a huge hunk of jersey barrier out from under her truck.

Good luck with the new job....keep smiling, it must be a job that wears on you after some time, most tow operators i have met are ornery as hell.

I always figured towing was a great business, especially in Calgary. AndyL correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it ~16k for a good truck and ~1500 in insurance monthly, after that it's all profit in the owners pocket? That's of course if he works on it all day and he has decent business. But if he does a minimum of 3 jobs on a shitty day, at roughly $60 a job, that's $180 a day. Not bad, I'm sure you can pull out 4-5k a month working a stress free job and having weekends off.

Dunno enough about the buisness side... there's a lot of hacks with towtrucks from what I've seen thus far; there's been a bunch of times this week that we've been showing the hacks how to do a basic tow...

I'd rather work commision than hourly any day of the week. I kinda like my choice because of the variety - retail could be dead, but that doesn't screw my day - those am/pm rush hour tags can make a decent earning themselves if you're quick. I can grab a tag in under 3 minutes solo now, 10 min run to impound, 5 min offload... Easy peasy 2-3 an hour; works to about 3x what AMA guys are making an hour...

Not good for much other than getting big wrecks off the road so you can load without traffic whizzing by at mach3

Got my first police escort too
