How are they for maintenance and upkeep ? I got to take a drive in a 2002 that my co-worker has for sale and it's pretty damn spiffy. I only wish they came in 6-speed though.

Awesome cars but they will require the expensive maintenance involved with an older sports car. Tires, brakes, and by now things like ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings etc.

Ya buh_buh has had his for a few years at least so he would know best with maintenance.

Still a great looking car.

Does anyone know if the 6 speed transmission from an e46 m3 will bolt into the 2001+ coupe ?

And thanks 95EagleAWD, you've come up in search the most when I typed in M-Coupe here on Beyond. How long have you been looking for one ?

I don't think the 6-speed fits, no... That's the reason they only have the 5 in there, and I haven't seen any swaps; but, as usual, I could be wrong.

I've been seriously looking for one for over a year now. Some of them, like Steel Grey/Imola Red are ridiculously expensive and rare, so I'm just trying to find one I like that's in good shape, and the colour combo is going to be secondary. There's not too many to pick from, with only 690 in North America, but there's always about 50 for sale. I blacklisted the 99-00s, since I want the big engine as well.

I gotta unload my 325 and my bike in the spring and then I'll have the Coupe. :)
