Good to see justice served for idiots who don't respect others' properties and expect to get away with it.

He still lost in the end. His baby was molested and destroyed by Wajahat Ahmad Khan...

So the valet had to pay out of his own pocket for this? I say it's a victory then. The SL65 owner is baller and this will teach the parking jockey a lesson.

The valet company is paying the $20K

$16,000 isn't enough for devaluation if you ask me.

It's about right for a SL65 non black series. Have you seen how hard those things depreciate? I almost bought one 4 years ago at $100k, and those things were $225k new or something stupid.

wow, $300K to $60K in 4 years regardless mileage. That's crazy.

Yea, the SL65 is probably the worst depreciating car in the MB lineup, both at a dollar value and a percentage value.

The SL65 Black Series is going to take a huge bath in the next 2 years too, it's not selling very well. $300k usd MSRP, and they're letting new ones go that's stuck in inventory for $200k and nobody's buying.

Will be a wicked car to own in the next 2 years.

Alexander Ovechkin has one and he says its the most fun car he's ever owned, and he's owned a new Brabus-tuned S55 AMG, M6, Porshe 911 turbo

that car is soooo dirty

Rage - how often do you give your keys to a valet?

I find it interesting that a court actually decided to award for accelerated depreciation. I've never seen that done before. I agree with it, but I've never seen it.

I wonder if that sets a precedence then?

It's been one of the reasons why I've always leased my cars. If it gets into an accident during a finance or cash purchase, resale goes down. Because it was a lease, I just give the car back and don't have to deal with the lost in value.

C63? All the time. Black Series or my old M3? Never.

C63 can be repaired easily. Black Series or M3? Not so much.

I've seen it before even on a leased vehicle. In my case, my SLK32 AMG when it got rear ended, I fought and got accelerated depreciation.

He'd rather have douchebag valets spit on his car than hand over the keys.

Did you have to file a separate civil suit or was it all handled during the original insurance settlement?

^ I have comprehensive insurance. I asked my insurance about it and they went after them for me.

I am very surprised that insurance companies don't cover this ALL the time.

They do if you ask for it. It's all part of the negotiations.

I suspect that it's hard to quantify. It's a bit wishy-washy as to how much an accident actually depreciates a vehicle.

So you can get your insurance company to get the other insurance company to pay for repairs AND pay for depreciation? Damn, I didn't ask my insurance company to do that for me because someone on here said no insurance companies pay for depreciation.
I haven't gotten the repairs done on my car yet so hopefully there's still a chance ?:dunno:

I'm guessing that it's only done on more expensive exotic / prestige type vehicles. It's probably not going to work on a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan.

So where are the adjusters on the board? Have you guys dealt with this stuff much?
