Car had new tires good windshield and newer brakes maybe 8 months old :
Extras are ,Desmond Racing wheels , Recaro Tom Cat setas, Blitz waste gate, large front mount intercooler, Sard Turbo , c-one coilovers height adjustable, Hks f-con ECU, HKs electronic boost controller, Greddy oil and water temperature gauges, exzedy clucth, the Transmission is broke and i just dont have a place to swap a tranny, car is bc insured but should pass a saftey. :

Any idea of the cost of a new transmission, and where to get one?

JDM source would be a good place to start.
Pretty inexpensive considering a lot of swappers for the 3sgte to the FWD cars here just ditch the AWD tranny.

The transmission may be affordable and easy to come by, however it's the labour that rapes you.

jdm source sell's engine and tranny for $1200, you'd have to contact them and ask how much for just the tranny.

but I bet inexpensive.
pulling the engine out of this car is not all that hard it drops out the bottom fairly easily.

they won't just sell the transmission alone. at least every time ive tried they wouldnt. . .

I happen to have an ST165 alltrac awd transmission in my garage though if anyone is really interested. . . . :thumbsup:

if not them there are lots of other companies that will, ive gotten just the engine off of tiger imports i think it was...

Are ST165 and ST185 AWD transmissions interchangeable?

the st185 tranny is better, the rc is the best, or st205 tranny, do it right the first time
