big  to Pathys (any year.....)

we have 2 pathfinders in the garage (93 and 95) and neither of them has EVER had a single problem (basically the only thing we do on them is regular maintainence...)....I am pretty sure this kind of quality carried through the years and you'll still find the same reliabilty with a 01 pathy.

check out www.4x4parts.com for more detailed info about common problems (if any.....) on R50 style pathyz

That's a lot of km for a 2001. Factor that into your offering price.

my friend has a 92, its pushing 325000kms before the rear end gave out. they are good but when something breaks prepare to spend alot($1000 for a used rear end with drums, ouch)

we also have a 98, absolutely zero problems and its a pimping ass vehicle, very capable on and off road. the only complaint is the fuel economy is terrible, but what suv isnt?

The SUV's are wicked, which is why they have barley changed them since their introduction. Slight exterior asthetics, and a bit more power, other than that and some other minor changes they are the same since they began. 100k for a 2001 is a quite high, make sure you don't pay too much for it.

well there have been some major changes...for instance, wd21 style pathys were body on frame.....then in 96' they switched to unibody construction, but yeah overall you can still find ALOT of similiarites inside when comparing newer pathys with old ones

What's wrong?

Does the shifter move from 2HI to 4HI ?

Do the front wheels engage ?

Any strange sounds ?

Theyre pretty good SUVs, but they don't stand up the the other imports in their class.

My Pathfinder has been absolutely great to me, super reliable, torquey, great off road. The only complaints I have with mine is the terrible terrible fuel economy and the rear end is lose (trailing arm bushings)...other than that, it's great!

That's weird about the fuel economy. It has the VG30E right? My family has a 95 Nissan hardbody with the same engine, and its pretty good on gas. My 300zx also has the same engine, and it has the best fuel economy of any V-6 car I have driven.

My uncle has an '02 pathfinder, and its very nice, but he pays alot for gas. Go for it if your can afford it!

My Pathfinder sports the VG30(i) TBI, hmm wierd how the hardbody has better fuel economy...well it's lighter than an SUV that's for sure! I get 350-400kms a tank thats driving like a granny.
