View Full Version : Running some pretty good camber... accidentally??

When I took my summers off this year I noticed the far insides were all worn pretty bad compared to the outside.

I had my car aligned at precision about 2 or 2.5 years ago, and I'm curious how all 4 could have gone out of alignment like that?

Since my summer tires were almost dead I may have been guilty of turning of the traction/stability control a decent amount at the end of this summer to kick the rear around a bit on some corners, could that force things out of alignment a bit?

My last question, I'm headed to Jasper then Edmonton this weekend and unfortunately the place I dropped it off at this morning couldn't get it on their alignment rack because it's too low :(

I should be fine to make the trip, I'll just wear the tires a little extra, correct?

if your car is that low chances are that the alignment shop could not 0 out your camber, its perfectly normal on low cars to have some camber, as long as your toe is good and you have no other type of irregular wear on the tires you should be just fine

if you want to prolong your tire life once you notice the inside is nearing the wear bars you can always go a get the tires flipped, use to do this all the time on the old drift car... but i was running so much camber that the inside would be on cords and the outside would be at about 98% tread

awe you edited it... but you should be able to check what type of wear you are seeing and from that tell what is off with the wheels

While we're talking about tire wear, what do we make of this?

Post the one with the penny on the perfectly bald tire. Even though it was bald it was 100% perfect wear.
