A friend of mine is still working at her job but on WCB (Modified duties)

She just found out shes pregnant.

She called EI asking them what maternity leave pay would be.

EI said its based on what her work pay is.

She gets paid xxxx amount from her work then WCB bumps up her pay to a said amount. Her pay is the same amount every 2 weeks and has been the same all this year.

EI said they don't count WCB earnings. So my friend would only be paid on what her work has given her all year and thats it.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

AFAIK maximum payment is 457 a week or 55% or your wages over the past year, which ever is less.
