LOL thats because the car isn't even there yet ... your bidding on the rights to buy it for the MRSP of $450000 ... so apparently you pay more for the rights to have a chance to buy the damn car, then the car itself

:D every "Super Car " is like that !

even when M3 came out, Porsche Turbo came out .. they sold for more then M.S.R.P. but not $half a million over MSRP !

Still.. I rather go for Carrera GT .. can get one in 2005 spring/summer if order now ..... :D

Of course .if MONEY is NOT a issue .. ha ha ...

:D :D

The same thing happened with PT Cruisers, and its happening now with the Crossfires :(

Supply and demand, but that auction is BS.

Still for Crossfire ? they are In Stock now, althought just offer a very "small" discount ..... ;)

Yeah its essentially an SLK 320 wrapped in new sheet metal, but some of the luxury stuff has been pulled and a stiffer handling package put on. The buying frenzy may be over now though. I just know when it first dropped, the dealers were pretty much gouging people on the initial orders - I heard they were getting SLK 320 prices for the crossfire :dunno:. I still haven't seen one on the road. :(

Damn that is awesome, if only I had an extra 550000 US laying around.

Why would you waste that much money on a piece like that? ;)

Well if you read the thread it makes sense. In fact, one could argue that pretty much ANY car that came out that fit a specific audience, that it would sell WELL over MSRP when it first becomes available int he market. Remember the beetle?

The same thing did happen with the PT cruiser, just not on a scale as expensive as the SLR
