Has anyone heard if there is a charity Kids Toy Run in Calgary this year?

check the four wheel stampeders forums - they're the annual hosters...

I recieved word from 4Wheel Stampeders they are not holding a Toy Run this year. So now does anyone want to get together for a Toy Run if we can find a donor? We could just have a simple run where we meet at Bowness and convoy out to the Donor location while obeying all street laws etc.

I heard it was due to the Childrens Hospital not agreeing with the image this sends, if so its a big :thumbsdow to them.

I have not read anything about why the run is not happening and I think they used different charities to donate to so I doubt the Childrens Hospital was the reason. That being said I have checke around and we could donate toys to the Calgary Firemans Toy fund as they take donations at all firehalls. We could pick a firehall and prearrange the drop off. I think Bowness park worked best or is there another spot a large group of vehicles can form up at?

fws probably isn't doing it because the guy who's arranged it for...14? years has tried to pass the reigns..

its not a cheap proposition either - the insurance costs were retarded if i recall.

The CJA is doing an awesome job getting donations and many companies are pitching in. The run is open to all so hopefully we will meet many of you in Bowness on the 12th. Ho Ho Ho!

Anyone else planning on going? What a great excuse to show off your rig and talk to other 4x4 enthusiasts and do a great thing for the kids at the same time!

We have a door prize for the best decorated rig as well. I will try to make it to give it out myself but I may not be able to.
