Yes. You are correct. Are those the auto-darkening ones? I used one from Princess Auto when I welded

^ Yeah his car is ungodly fast.... you have no idea. 600hp on a stock bottom end, stock tranny & rear end.

<-- very jealous. Our neighbors all hate him for his exhaust though.

Helmets looking great Steve, what happened to your old account?

The helmet looks cool, but you have to get that import done!!!!
Somebody has to give Ron a run for his money. He is one of the only guys out there doing it up fast for the 4 cyl crowd.
Not that I am doing anything...:(

thanks graham

dont worry chris the pieces are slowely falling together

december adam is gonna finish off the head and that sets the pace for the rest of the engine

im rolling the body in to make the plug for the carbon fiber mold
within a week

once the body part is taken care of chasis

then your gonna start on your right

:dunno:

Cool.
I'm not starting anything. No time for my stuff.
Driving what I got is good for me. I did the drag thing. It was fun.
I even did the open road thing, and won, even more fun.
I have no interest in 600hp to go 12's, never mind the 2000hp it's going to take to go 6's.
I've worked on a few really fast cars, and they were very cool. It's just too much work for me with a family, a job, and a hobby.
Plus, being friends with these guys has taught me that trailering a race car around isn't as much fun as driving around in a regular street car.
You are in the perfect position to do all this crazy stuff before life kicks in.

The mustang is pretty heavy. What did you do to add weight? (it shipped with iron heads and 3200 lbs)
At least the import will be pretty light. You are shooting for 1800 or something, right?

stevo 27
11-16-2010, 08:47 PM
the coupe mustang's were 3200lbs
mind you my car is 3600lbs with me in it 217lbs

only thing ive done body wise rear seats are gone
and aire conditioning and such
glass hood

still has an awsome heater, power windows , power mirrors , REAR DEFROST , radio ,nice plush seats, all the sound deadning haha
its like a caddy man
i could totally gut it and shave 600+lbs but its my daily driver in the summer i put like 12,000kms on it this season
ill just put some arp rod bolts in it and run a 275-300 shot next year

the dart heads ive got on it are 7lbs heavier each than the e7 heads

the girdles in the motor

11 quart oil pan vs the stock 5 quart

plus those cobra replica rims are 22lbs heavier each than the factory rims/tires

and i havent had time to remove the old monsterous subframe connectors and replace them with some of mine

weight adds up fast

yea the celica im shooting for 1800+hp

1600-1700lbs race ready with me in it
and im gonna use the maximum allowable ballast weight of 200lbs when i go compete in the top sportsman to make the minum weight off 1900lbs

i figure rau is running 6.9*'s@200mph with 1400hp and 2300lbs

when all is said and done i should be doing pretty good

EH eh

Back in my younger days, I had a choice of going with the same style 5.0 Mustang, or a 93 Nissan 240sx. I opted for the 240sx ONLY because it was 5.0L and I was a student and didn't have cash for gas.

Now that you've show us your Mustangs capabilitys, I can overlook the chipped hood   :bigpimp:

These are the Numbers that Ford turned into the Motor Vehicles Manufactures Association, it is the Curb Weights with Fluids ready to drive:

LX Coupe 5 Speed 3010
LX Hatch 5 Speed 3069
GT Hatch 5 Speed 3144
LX Conv 5 Speed 3231
GT Conv 5 Speed 3365

Add:
A/C 40 Lbs
Power Locks 6 Lbs
Power Windows 6 Lbs
AM/FM Cass 2 Lbs
Premium Sound 5 Lbs
Radio Delete -9 Lbs

Did you throw it on a scale or what? I've heard door beams can add a few lbs after '87 or something, but they didn't make many changes to the fox.
If it were 3600lbs from the factory, it would have been even slower.
They only had 225hp.

I love that turbo. Likely almost as big as the motor in your Celica. It will sound like a jet!

Well, it's not impossible to be heavier, it just has to be done by the owner. Stereo upgrades, and wheels/tires are 2 of the biggest culprits to adding weight.
