New to iphones - need help!

need to unlock and jailbreak a 3g that is currently running 4.1 and locked to fido.

ive read stuff online, and it seems like I have to downgrade the firmware, but I am having problems with that

can anyone point me in the right direction?

I believe this works for 3g as well. I know it worked for the 4 with the same software.

thanks for the help jsn, the problem is the fact that the phone is locked to fido, and is running 4.1

ive tried limerain, ive tried the others (forget the names) but am having problems downgrading

so my understanding is that the 05.14.02 baseband is the problem when it comes to unlocking, is that right?
