Hi

My Dell Studio 15 laptop running vista ALWAYS disconnects if I enter a thread or website that is image heavy.

The only fix is by restarting my router....

This is extremely annoying especially if I must go to the router everytime, it defeats the purpose of wireless.

Does anyone have any ideas of what it might be exactly?

TIA

Anways,

I should also note, my wireless router is a Netgear WGT624 v2, it is about 5 or 6 years old now.

it could be from ur router, but have you looked at these options first.

How fast is your internet?
How much ram does your lap top have.
Is your wireless connected FREE? as in do you have it set up with out a pass word?

Check any of those because when u get a database error that means the laptop is getting over roaded with the ram it has and the next thing it discnnet would be the internet cuz thats using alot of ram in the computer.

Check the settings on your router, it may have a limit as to how much data you can put thru at a time, which you may be able to change.

Another thing may be to see if there is a dd-wrt firmware available for your particular router. It is hacked firmware, and they unlock/improve lots of stuff that the manufacturer never took the time to do .
