I just wanted to express my displeasure of the reply i just recently had. I called the store at 4:45pm due to a flat tire. Realizing that it is late i made it clear i understood that you would not be able to look at my car for probably a few days and that was the response i got which i was ok with. However, when i told the person on the phone that it would be tight for me to get to the store by 5:00 he made no attempt to figure out any solution for me nor offer to stay even an additional 5mins just in case i was late. The response was "I'm not going to stay open for a flat tire" even just to drop it off. It sure was certainly not the service i had the last few times i was there for an oil change and when they were trying to sell me new tires and offer and tune up for me.

I don't blame him, who wants to stay open late for a flat tire. They have store hours for a reason and there are plenty of other shops open past 5:00pm where you could have brought your car too.

Most places have a keydrop that you can leave your keys in after hours.

Are you kidding me!! He should have offered to come pick you up and drive you home... at least!!! Maybe he could have even swung by Swiss Chalet and picked you up a little chicken dinner? What a douche... never bringing my car there.

LOLed at this

seriously though, you shouldn't expect a business to stay open past close. think about it - these guys have been working their ass off since 8 am, full of grease and oil. they're ready for a beer by 5pm, and the last thing they wanna do is wait around staring at the ceiling so they can change your flat tire for you. if you can't make it before, take it somewhere else. do you expect Safeway or Liquor Box to stay open ten minutes late on account of your lazy ass? no!

shop closes at 5pm. if you think you couldn't make it there in time, then go elsewhere....crappy tire is open till 8pm. even they can fix a flat.

no sympathy

You make me hate customers more.

This is NOT thread worthy. People need to stop making threads about every single thing that goes wrong with their lives.

You come on here trying to slam the shop because he didn't want to fix your frozen fucking tyre?

Not overly concerned with it but concerned enough to make a post and then elaborate on why it was concerning.

Are you serious OP? You wait till the last minute and then you expect the store to stay open for you.....

You remind me of those people that walk into a restaurant 5 minutes before closing, then sit down with their group and order a full meal.....wow. just wow.

Just to clarify, I didn't WAIT until last min. i called immediately when my tire was flat. It was more the way i spoken to than the actual message. His reply was a flat out NO, you bring it during these hours or too bad. Didn't try to think of any suggestions. Nor ask additional questions about my situation. I made it very clear that i was happy with leaving it there even if they couldn't get to it for a few days. The key drop off box would have been nice but either they don't have that or he didn't bother to suggest it. Of course it's different when you are the employee and not the owner because I have been there before and they are super nice when they try to sell me their maintenance packages.

Dude, you have to look at it from their point of view.

You call them 15 minutes before they are supposed to go home and crack open a beer and ask them to fix a flat for you.

Would YOU stay late for a job that gave you $20 when you know the customer has 999,999 other options to fix his problem? Time is money, baby.....and a flat tire fix isn't enough to make me want to give up MY time.

Honestly, I would be surprised to hear any other response.

Its not their problem your tire blew out 15 minutes from close. You have no idea how long you will be and I doubt the owner will pay the employee to wait on a single 5 minute job.

Learn to change your own tires, its not that hard and you might even feel good about doing it yourself and save a few bucks at the same time.

I suppose since he isn't the business owner flat tire - major work is irrelevant since it's all the same to him. He just wants the hell out of there. I didn't think dropping off my keys and have them look at it the next day was such a big deal but i guess I was wrong.

The biggest problem here is why you, presumably a male over the age of 16, can't do a simple task like change a tire. The solution 99% of people would take in this situation is put a spare on themselves, the bad tire in the trunk and drop it off before work the next day.

Mods should turf this thread so that this doesn't get cached on google forever sullying someone who's only guilty of not offering to hold OP's dick when he takes a piss.

Love the responses in here.

Seriously though OP, maybe he could have candy-coated it a little more so you didn't cry inside, but he was perfectly inside his right to do and say what he did.

As suggested - slap on the spare, and drop off the tire somewhere in the morning.

So.. What if the guy waited an extra 5 minutes (assuming he would go above and beyond), and you showed up at 5:07 PM just as he locks the door.

Again, there is a reason why there is operating hours. Why should he make promises?

Also, you were okay with getting a flat repaired even though they won't be looking at a car for 3 days?

What the hell man lol.

You had no problem with them taking a couple days to look at it, but you HAD to drop it off 15 mins before they close? Go fuck your hat.

I vote thread is renamed "whodiman is a moron"

People have lives outside of work too. Maybe he had a prior arrangement and was pressed for time and didn't want to wait around for "just 5 more minutes" (which likely always turns out to be 15-30 minutes)

I hate this bullshit "ME" society where everybody feels entitled to everything.

I agree, at the very least a mod should rename this thread to something like "OP angry because he doesn't realize how real life works" ;)

Dude, I've been going there for years, and Savio & his crew have bent over backwards to help me out. You are the only un-happy customer of theirs I've EVER met.

Yet the reason for you to be unhappy is laughable at best.
Most shops barely make any money fixing flats, after you figure out how much the tech gets paid per hour, vs. the time involved, really there isn't any money in fixing flats most times. (Plus you have to take into account the time of setting you up in the computer and dealing with those issues)
Yet they did this for you, AND you're unhappy because they didn't wait for you? wow...
whats worse, is that you have to make a thread over this?

No use beating a dead horse haha. whodiman's dick is already inverted by now.

But yeah, title of thread should be changed, and I would even suggest OP just delete this thread.
