I have a house and on the roof is that spinning metal cap(I think its the air return so water doesn't build up in the attic.)

Well that spinning metal cap is squeaking so much its driving my tenants crazy!

Any suggestions on fixing it and getting it to stop.

Could lubricate it, or just buy another - they aren't expensive.

BTW: They are called "Turbine Vents".

Dont buy another, those things ALWAYS suck and will ALWAYS make noise. When u do replace it, replace it with a standard plastic roof vent.

This.. They were all the rage a few years ago, but time and research have proven that simply having a bunch of well placed roof vents will do a better job since they work ALL the time, not only when it's breezy.
