Can you please post a diy on how you prepped the body , primer , and layered the paint also how you wet sanded. i am very intrigued by your work and going to attempt this in my garage and hoping for the same results.

That's a lot you just asked me to do, I watched a ton of YouTube videos, from backyard specialists to actual professionals, you pick up on a ton of things if you actually pay attention, get a test panel and screw around with it, smash it with a hammer and fix the dent and paint it, see how it looks, me spending 3 hours doing a writeup isn't going to help you.

So I guess you can't wetsand and polish single stage paint when there is any metallic flakes in it, mind you mine has like 6 different shades, so I ended up respraying it due to me wetsanding and polishing it kind of ruined the paint a little, it dulls out some of the flake making the paint change colors under certain light. I just finished spraying, I'll post more pics when it's polished.

So I have started wetsanding again, it is turning up pretty good as the image in the paint has become much clearer, it turned out a little foggy because of lack of fans to remove overspray, none the less here's some pics from what I have done so far.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/44c1bc82.jpg

A little foggy, but lots of clear on it.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/3ea69d1f.jpg

Here's a pic to show the clarity that comes out of wetsanding, it's not finished but just a side by side of where I started and where I didn't do yet

I'll have a lot more polished tomorrow i had some stuff to do today so I didn't get to do much.

You should put in a S2K cluster in there! Or swap over integra interior insidee it.

derek_k
03-17-2011, 08:26 AM
I have thought about an s2k cluster, But I can't stand spending 500 on a cluster, and for integra dash I'm not much of a fan, if eg was super ugly and integra was super nice, then ya I would l, but for what it is, I'll stick with eg console,

I got my new windshield, put the rest of my windows in, and got my fluids in it starts like a champ and everything works, except for my temp gauge, does anyone know a way I should wire this so it will work, and I know it's not the cluster.

Are you sure? I've read it's there so if you crash and are knocked unconscious, someone from the outside can then kill the power to ensure a safer time while removing you from the car. I could be wrong though, tons of pictures of cars with them on the back of their cars.

all pictures above are drag cars, for a road race application rule books do indeed mount it indise usually in the driver's side vent between the steering wheel and the door for easy acces by a corner worker or yourself in case of a flip over or something like that.

Very tastefully done and I applaud the DIY approach.

So for now it's basically done, just need a few more trim pieces I'm gonna grab from pnp on the weekend, then wait for the snow to leave, get a wheel alignment, a new under the lca exhaust, and a tune, maybe a header, but other that it's all re assembled, everything works but my temp gauge fuck, I need to figure that out, but it's just sittin here lookin good, waiting for the nice weather, my battery bracket is mint, it doesn't even budge from it's spot, but this weekend it will get all it's final touches, and then it will be ready for summer, thanks everyone for the nice comments throughout the winter, it made it a lot easier to keep motivated to finish this thing in time for summer, I don't really know when my next post will be, prolly not for a little bit cause there won't be much to update till the weather get better in this city. I also got a wheel alignment today and my god this car drives like a dream.

Is that 3inch piping from the flex-back? Must sound like a boss... Going to any wednesday meets anytime soon?

Yup, it has. 2.5" collector from the header, then on the end of the header I have a step up to 3" then flex pipe, then 3" all the way back with 1 resonator in there too, I think it sounds pretty nice On the hIghway it is a little noisy though.

In my Opinion, this image completely capture the agressive stance of this car coupled with its awesome paintjob & fine att to detail....Nice work man!:nut:

Umm, I wouldn't say fish creek, it's out of the city but on the edge of the bow river

So it has been a while since I've done an update, or anything to the car really, but recently I've gotten the bug again to spend money on this thing, I recently bought a legit spoon duckbill as well as a front lip for it, I also removed the cage and got myself some of those rare db8 type r rear seats. I already had some dc2 rear seats, so I figured I'd put them in, the car has become much more quiet than it was before with the cage and gutted, it's much more pleasing to drive now, plus it's 150 lbs lighter than it was before. I am just guessing at the weight cause the scales said it weighed the same with me in it with no cage, than it did with me out of it with the cage, so give or take 10-20 lbs it's still fucking heavy.

Anyways, the seats turned out mint, no gaps anywhere and fit like oem, the wing fits flawless, as well does the front lip. Anyways here's some pics.
