so it has been a long time since i have posted an update, or done anything to the car really lol, but i have recently picked up the mod bug again, i have picked up a few random parts for my car, and i also decided to refinish my old rims for fun.
i bought myself a new steering wheel, i am thinking about getting it refinished because all of it is super mint except for the leather wrapping or whatever its made of.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/ad5ef1b8.jpg

i also got an audio console and black with red stitching shift boot

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/98353d22.jpg

and i also got black recaros as well, i think it made the cars interior much nicer, it seems way more complete when your sitting inside the car

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/4c9341f7.jpg

i also bought some new suspension for my car, they are tein RE.
they are gonna get my car realllllly low, they are not installed yet.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/2d95013a.jpg

and for my rims, i am polishing them, so they will be a mirror finish, its a time consuming process, but im not in a rush to do them at all seems i already have rims on my car lol. here are some pics from the process so far

this is my first stage of sanding, i will need to work my way up from 320 to 1500 grit

so youre gonna put those rims on instead of the OG's? i dunno man, i like the OG's better, the stance with them kills it...or did you get rid of them? also the black recaros suit i 1000000x better, good work man.

Hello beyond, so recently I have purchased a house of my own, I now have a garage, and I also have aquired 2 egs this year, the garage is basically my dream garage and is loaded to the tits, it has a 3 piece bathroom in it, 2 water hookups hot and cold outside of the bathroom, a drain in the center of the garage and also has heated floors. The garage is massively oversized at 27'x37'. It has very good lighting and more than enough room to build my civics lol. As for the project, the rhd civic is basically going to stay as is for engine mods, I am mainly just going to restore it and make it mint with a bunch of goodies, keeping it clean and stock looking, as for the green civic, as of right now that will be my daily and won't be getting any extensive work done to it anytime soon, and it was in a minor front end accident but I don't know how bad it really was yet cause I've never tore it apart yet. I have a few parts that will be going on the civic already, but I needs a complete paint job first, so nothing will be put on until the body work is done, anyways, here's some pics of the cars and the garage of mine, I just finished painting the work bench area, I need to put all my shit away before I start working on the car, I just moved in on Thursday.

Pic of the garage before I painted and put all my stuff in it from my dads garage where all my car stuff was stored lol

It does have some rear quarter panel rust, and also some by the door jam, I will be swapping out both quarter panels and modifying the wheel wells to fit tires better

As of right now I'll be keeping the type r, I do want to do a k swap on an eg, but I think it'll be a lhd one as I like shifting with my right hand more, I just want to have a mint rhd one for all the different stuff the rhd one comes with.

Hey everyone, the build has not quite started yet. I have been super busy with my new job busting my ass there, and also with fixing up my new home every night so far, my garage is near a stage of completion where I can start removing everything off the car, the last big job I need to do in my garage is repair the floor, it is all weathered and I bought a kit that should fix it and smooth it out again. But as of right now I did do a little bit of stuff to my green eg. Seems I am no longer driving the blue one anymore I removed the rims off it and put them on the green one, I plan on buying the blue one different wheels for when it's done anyways. I also had a set of spoon replica mirrors so I put those on the green one as my passenger one was busted off as well. I also have a set of gsr fat fives i am currently polishing, and i also have my old konig heliums that I was planning on polishing and have started those as well, the fat fives are much easier to do and those will be finished before the konigs. I plan on repairing the garage floor this week and getting the rest of the wall painted so I can install the last shelf and put the rest of my stuff away. Buddy who lived here before loved hanging stuff on the walls, there are like 150 drywall touch ups on this one wall alone, so that's setting me back on painting it lol, I sand all day at work and I really need to be motivated to sand after work for a good hour or two to finish this lol.

Here's the busted ass walls

I don't know if anyone else uses this technique, but I really like it, I jack my car up into the air and allow the tire to be able to spin, I then use the bar from my jack and fold the lip up of the fender by pushing down on the bar and spinning the tire to roll the bar through, kinda like driving over it but with more control, I then lower the car so the tire just touches the ground and just starts to compress the suspension, the wheel won't turn anymore, but you can muscle through and roll the bar by hand until it rolls through without feeling very much pressure anymore, you then lower the car maybe a cm more and repeat rolling the bar through, until you believe you have achieved your proper roll, I find you get a very good shape and fitment to the tires you are putting on the car.

Pre roll remove clips and put fender liner above the lip of the fender to fold and close it into place

Hello beyond, so I have semi finished my garage, atleast enough for me to park my cars in it now seems my garage floor is now sealed and cured, I only have one wall left to paint and I will do that sometime in the future, none the less I got my cars all parked in their positions now and I slowly started to remove pieces off the car, I will have more progress throughout the week, but as of right now my goal is to get the car stripped down and all organized, clean some parts up before I store them away, start the wiring and start the body work. Anyways here are some pics of the progress

Garage floor sealed, wall on the right painted

Lol ya I know, I wonder how the system actually works on this car, as of right now when I got the car it was disconnected, so I'm not too sure how well it works, and it's not even like this engine has the power to spin tires anyways lol

Hello beyond, so I have been slowly plugging away removing parts from the car, I have lots of the interior removed as well as the rear end basically fully disassembled, I don't think I'll be putting in hours like I did on the rootbeer eg, but I will definitely work on it a little every day, I have a big pile of parts laying around that I need to clean and restore before I put them away, not too sure if I am going to do that before I remove the rest of the interior or not, I have encountered quite a few cross threaded screws in the interior which is really pissing me off, it makes a 20 second job into 20 minutes atleast, quite frustrating, but I am hoping I don't come across any more lol, anyways here are some pics

Wiring harness and lines disconnected from rear end, for the most part lol

Hello beyond, I have been slowly working on the car throughout the week and have made some progress. I have all the interior panels out with most of the wiring all sorted out in the interior. I now need to remove the engine which will be happening soon and get everything out so I can start the body work. I spent quite a long time cleaning all the interior pieces inside and out before I put them all away in my house, there is a small pile of things I need to replace so far, some of them are questionable, just need to either work on them some more or just replace it hopefully, parts are kinda hard to find lol. I have discovered that this car was in an accident before, I need to investigate further once I get to the body work stage, I can never catch a break with my cars I buy lol, oh well, just gotta fix it, the rocker panel is fine, it's purely the quarter panel and slightly into the door jam. Anyways here are some pics

Rear end all disconnected, just the suspension and gas tank left

Where in the world did you find a garage like that in the city? Or are you outside of the city?

Hello beyond, I have been slowly working on the car and have made some progress, I have some more of the wiring harness removed on the drivers side, I have the fuse panel and charge harness removed, as well as the abs fuse box. I have the fenders off and the wheel wells stripped down a little bit, side skirts are removed and I have found quite a bit of rust on the rocker panels, not too excited about that cause it's gonna need to be replaced, I have been looking at the floor pan of this car and every seat is sagging where the feet go, I am going to need to figure something out to repair that. There are spots of rust everywhere on this car, there is going to be lots of sandblasting and repair work needed to get this back in the shape I want it to be. I have found a set of rims I want to purchase, I can't bite the bullet on buying them though, although I would like them for when I fit my quarter panels, the offset is pretty retarded, but when you are replacing all the panels on the car it's pretty easy to make them fit any rim size. I don't like cars that rub lol. Anyways here's some pics, I'd like to get this engine out soon, I drained the oil and coolant and removed the rad.

For a before comparison

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_0915_zps51f2e5e1.jpg

Still lots to remove over here

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_0913_zps40ec7da9.jpg

More wiring removed from inside

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_0914_zps4a36045b.jpg

And that's about it for now, I have cleaned up some more random parts before they go away, I am in no speedy rush to do this, I am trying to keep all the clips for now, although I'll barely be using any of them seems I need to remove all the wiring I am no longer using in the car,so I'm sure I'll have to cut all the oem ones.

Hope to have some more progress soon

Hello beyond, I have been working on my car a little more than I thought I'd be able to and have got the front almost all disassembled. I would have to say I am about 75% there to having the car stripped, but I have the engine out, the ac system removed, the power steering system mainly removed, I plan to be getting a manual steering rack or deleting the power steering, I am not a fan of it. The abs system will be removed completely including the wiring for it, as for traction control, I still don't know where the system lives or if it's even In here, all I have found is the module, I have no clue how it would "stop" the tires from spinning, but that will prolly be removed as well. The battery bracket that holds it was giving me a huge pain in the ass during the whole engine removal, the two bolts that are deep down in the bracket that go into the frame were hella seized and stripped, no chance of getting it off without cutting the bolts, so I bent the bracket up to get the wiring and lines I needed out for the ac system from underneath it, once the engine was out and I could remove the brake line that was resting on it where I needed to cut, I could then remove it, but man what a pain in the ass it was the whole time. I will continue removing the front end before I move to the rear end, no too much left besides the firewall and drop the subframe, anyways here are some pics

The damn battery bracket

Hello Beyond, it has been a long time since I updated anything, so I am going to have a bunch of updates all at once. I will have a description for each little section of work I completed during that week or two. I have all the windows out, all the wiring removed and the interior firewall stripped, I have been cleaning the engine bay out, still need to wax and grease remover it once I am done the whole car, I don't have too much left to remove off the car then I can start body work. It is supposed to snow 20 cm here tomorrow so i need to get my green car into winter mode this weekend so i can get to work on monday.

Hello Beyond, so I haven't done much to the car lately, I am almost ready to start doing body work, I need to get some rocker panels and figure out what I am going to do with the frame, I feel like this car should have been sent to the grave years ago but it is now in my hands and I feel like I should repair and restore this properly. So from what I have seen with the car I think it got t boned really hard on the left hand side, the frame at the front is smashed up about 1 1/2"!!! It's pretty bad, there is bondo and rust around the lower door mount, about half of the frame is smashed up, and who knows what that has done to the structure of the car, the door jam and quarter panel clearly show that the car has been hit/ dented severely. I do believe the door has been replaced before or else they bottomed out on one hell of a curb. I went to the wreckers and cut out the section of the rear quarter and door jam, to come home and discover the frame damage, I am not sure if I will go cut that section of a car out, or if I will just replace it with some metal of my own. My boss from work or our metal guy is gonna come over and take a look at it and give me their personal opinion on what I need to do. As for the car I have the rear brakes to remove, I dropped the gas tank and removed all the lines, I need to get some dry ice to remove the rest of the sound deadener inside the car, I got the front out but the rear is a lot more secured. There is lots of rust and lots of work that needs to be done body wise. Hopefully I can get started sooner than later, I need to order myself some rocker panels ASAP and figure out this frame issue, but I can start on the right side as soon as I get some rockers. Anyways here are some pics

The right side frame, nice and normal

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1048_zpse3abedc4.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1048_zpse3abedc4.jpg.html)

Nice and smashed up :(

My first thoughts when I saw this was the rocker was rusted out, I didn't think the frame was fully fucked

It's hard to see (on my phone) but it's about the length of the door that is smashed up

My cut out quarter panel, I have other replacement panels for the arch, I need the door jam section, ps I live in Canada so yes, every single eg has rust lol, I was impressed with how clean this one was, considering it was the only one not dented in at the wreckers.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1034_zps2fd18f4d.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1034_zps2fd18f4d.jpg.html)

I got my bottle of gas for my welder

It's very hard to see but I have the panels marked out in pencil roughly where I am going to make my cuts, I am going to undo the spot welds on the door jam and rear window so I have less exposed welds

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1036_zps1b119507.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1036_zps1b119507.jpg.html)

Subframe and lines all removed, time to start shaving and repairing rust lol

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1013_zps66ee36a0.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1013_zps66ee36a0.jpg.html)

Anyways that is all for now, prolly won't have much to update until I start doing some bodywork on the car, I need to aquire some supplies first, I might just put them on the visa lol

Hello beyond, so I live in Canada, and it snowed like crazy last night, I personally have never seen it so bad, but then again I just moved out to the country and left the city, but this is one hell of a blizzard as I am only about 40 minutes from the city I used to live in. So basically when I got to work today, I got sent home cause no one else was coming in and the snow was only gonna get worse, so seems I work on cars all day at work, I figured id spend a little extra time on my car and start up a new project on it seems I am super bored of cleaning parts and putting them away, I did a decent pile of them on the weekend, but didn't take any pictures as it's just a cleaned up part lol, I got a bunch that need sandblasting and repainting, lots of bolts that are going to need replating, and an extreme amount of body work to be done, once again I will say this that I am doing all the work myself, from body to paint to mechanical, I will have the metal guy from my work come help me with some of the panel alignment and frame repair, why wouldn't I have a professional that is a perfectionist come help me do that for free lol. I am not sure if I mentioned this but I do car restorations for a living at a very reputable shop. They have built some legendary cars including the optimum battery 68 camaro lap of America car. I have been doing this for just over 3 months now and my skills improve every day. It is a small shop so I get to see and experience lots of different things. So what I have done so far is started to weld up holes in the bay, marking off what I need and do not need with tape. I cut out the frame rail off a junkyard car. I hope to get some rocker panels sooner than later, I would love to get the body work done with so I can start blocking out to car and getting it nice and straight. I need to figure out where I want to run my brake lines and engine/charge harness. I also need to figure out where I want to locate my battery, I am not sure if I want it in the car or not. I will be keeping the full interior, so that makes it a little more difficult with the Jdm interior. None the less that is enough rambling and I will show some pics now

So here is the chunk of the car I cut out to repair the frame and the door jam/ rocker panel.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1050_zpsb66e7711.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1050_zpsb66e7711.jpg.html)

Here is the rest of the left hand side lol, I hacked that car up good at pick n pull lol

And this shall begin my long project of removing rust everywhere off this chassis lol

Rust and lots of it

This is the door jam on the quarter panel that is smashed up, rust coming through the paint in 2 places, so that's why I have the qp cut out, need to redo most of that jam period cause of the accident, I will be undoing the panel at the spot welds for cleanliness.

And this is the reason why I got to stay home today, it is still going hard and this was around 11am today, my back yard has about 2-3 feet of snow everywhere, I don't even wanna look at my driveway.... I need a snow blower lol

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1105_zps6f3afe4f.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1105_zps6f3afe4f.jpg.html)

Anyways that is all for now, I have a bunch of welding and grinding to do on the bay and sand blasting as well, lots of hours to be put into this, I need to go to the city and get some rocker panels.

Hello Beyond, so I have been slowly working on the car as it has been hella cold here, the last couple days where I live was the coldest place on the planet, yes that is the planet, colder than the north and South Pole. So it has been hard to get around anywhere, and I was out of welding wire and it was quite the adventure into the city to get any, all of the highways were closed around me from the blizzard for a couple days, and I was a little sketched out still to go too far away as the cold would almost freeze my clutch line., it would turn stiffer than a 3 puck clutch lol. So I have got some more sand blasting done on the bay, I am still not complete as I spent more time welding up all the holes, grinding them down and getting some primer on them. I also removed all the brackets I don't need anymore, I kind of want to trim the passenger motor mount to remove the two holes on it, and also make it straight so it doesn't have the little outdent in it. I have found some damage in the engine bag from the accident, there was a ding in one of the corners, I pounded it out a little but it can still use a little more shaping. Other than that the bay is starting to look decent, I gotta make up some templates to weld the ac hole and wiring harness holes, also for where the brake lines went. I need to make a custom piece on the strut tower to give the upper control arm some more room to move, there are dings in my strut tower from bottoming out, so I'll have to make a box for it to clear more. It doesn't seem like much has gotten done but it sure does take a lot of hours doing things solo lol. And I am not working at a rushed pace, otherwise I'll prolly make mistakes lol. Anyways here are some pics

Brackets on firewall removed and some more holes welded up

I still need to do some more blasting in this corner, but the majority of it is complete, some places I have done need a little more, just a little color in the pitting still

I still have a lot more to do on this side

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1162_zps82c3fd0c.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1162_zps82c3fd0c.jpg.html)

So that's about it for now, I should have the engine bay pretty prepped by the end of this week, or hopefully the next, just gotta keep welding all these holes up, make a couple brackets, and fab up the control arm piece, blast some more of the rust. So far it's turned out pretty good, a little filler on the welds and it should start looking real nice. That will be all for now.

Hello Beyond, so it was Christmas, and time has been tight with family and all that stuff, but I have been slowly plugging away at the car. I have a lot more of the engine bay welded up, I only have a few more holes then about 8 patches or so to do, I have 5 of them made already, I just need to weld them in. I removed the skin of the quarter panel that I cut off the car at pick n pull. It requires a little bit of work to make it mint, but I'll get into that once I start putting all the pieces together. I am not too sure if I posted this already but I have my rocker panels now. They are not quite the quality I wanted, but it's better than rusty metal that's for sure. I am meeting a honda tech member for the first time today to trade some skills for some goodies, I am sure many of you are familiar with his build on there but I am helping him install some Jdm rear interior. I won't disclose his name in my thread but he may let me post some pictures of the work after, I may do my own writeup on it just because lol. I got a bunch of stuff from my local body shop so I got the supplies for all the prep work. So basically I should be starting the quarter panels soon enough. I would like to finish up the engine bay first and get it in some primer to protect my work. I got a bunch of sandblasting done on the front end, there is still some more to do but the rad support and firewall are taken care of now, just gotta blast my welds before I prime and it should be rust free and good to start all the fillers.

So today I'll be working on another guys car. Hopefully it will inspire me or something to work on my own car a little more. I don't have the motivation like I did on my last build, prolly cause I work on cars all day at work though. I would love to just see this thing painted and rust free lol. Anyways here are some pics

Hello Beyond, kind of a big update today, once again I got snowed in today and can't get out of my cul de sac, so I got to stay at home from work today. Over the last 2 or 3 days I started to work on my quarter panel, for the right "drivers" side. I did one of the ht members rear Jdm interior swap for him, and in return I got a bunch of parts. I don't have any pictures of them yet, I dunno why I didn't take any, but they are all dusty and need a cleaning now before I put them away. But none the less the parts I got were, black interior basically lol. I got some other hard to find pieces like sun visors, map light, cowel, as mine were all broken, as well as some other random rhd stuff he grabbed along the way. Now back to my car I kinda stopped working on the engine bay currently as the black carpet is sitting there staying in the pressed shape. So that's what really got me working on the rear quarter panel. The rust on this wheel well is SOOOO much better than my rootbeer one. Let's just hope the other side isn't completely toasted. But to repair the rust on this side was pretty easy, some cleaning, sand blasting, one patch needed, it went pretty good. I have the quarter panel all cut out and fit ready for install, I just need to lay some primer down on the wheel well first. I should be slowly working on the car all weekend, the only problem is my gas bottle is empty for my welder, I may try and make a trip to another local town to get it filled up, only problem is it's right beside my work... Like right beside it lol. Anyways, I hope to have this qp installed his weekend, then the rocker panel to follow once the qp is in. I have a ton of pics to post, I prolly missed some stuff but the pics will show it lol

Rough cut out for the quarter panel

keep up the good work!

I hope to have the car ready by summer, if all goes as planned, I am still undecided on what parts I want to buy for it, but I have to replace every single bushing in the car as they aren't even connected anymore, for basically every bushing I can just pull them apart with my hands, prolly the most unsafe vehicle I've ever seen, sway bars were hooked up improperly. I was quite shocked at how the car was put together, none the less I got lots of time to put into the car still. I have the right side quarter panel installed now, just gotta do the rocker panel on that side, repair the door, and get a new fender, some sand blasting then move onto the other side after.

I most definitely want the car done by August, which does seem very possible to me.

August seems doable at the pace your working at!

Did you decide what color you'll be painting it?

so stoked to see the finished product!

Hello Beyond, so I have been slowly working away on the car, and I am at the point to install the rocker panel. I decided to not replace the whole rocker as it was not required, the rust on the parts I didn't remove sandblasted away, so no need to remove the whole thing. I have it primed up so the bare metal exposed is protected now, just need to weld the patch in place. I ground down a little of the quarter panel where was gonna get sprayed with primer and it turned out very good, I outdid my expectations considering my skill level in doing such a task is minimal, it made me more confident with my work lol. Anyways here are some pics of what I got completed over the week.

Nice rusty rocker

Cut out, rust in the seam, it all sandblasted out, it actually disappeared at the edge of my cuts as well, if there is any rust in the seam where I didn't replace, it is very very minimal, keep in mind some of the discolouring in the pic is dirt

Anyways that is all for now, I should have the rocker welded in sometime this week, then I will grind all the welds down on this side, and get it all in some primer. I think I am just gonna replace the door on this side as it has a gouge in it and quite a bit of rust on the bottom. But other than that a little more sand blasting on this side and soon it will be rust free, it is slowly disappearing from this car lol. Is say I got close to half of it now.

Are you applying an epoxy primer to the bare metal?

If not I would highly suggest it, you can apply a high build primer over top of it, but for bare-metal epoxy is king. It's the only primer that won't let any moisture get to the metal.

The paint I am using is a new breed of primer, it's like epoxy and high build in one, it is meant for bare metal. I like it so far, sprays nice and sands nice.

Hello beyond, so I have hit a milestone on this car, the driver side is now rust free!!! There is still some rust around windshield and on the back end, but that's not the driver side lol. I gotta prep some of that stuff before I spray some primer down on this side. But the rocker panel is installed and looks great. I did a bunch of sandblasting around the driver side/windshield/back end, but I still have some more to do. All the welds are ground down and I wax and greased the jams and panels. I don't have any pics of that stage as I just did it. But none the less. I'll get this side in primer and then it's time to move to the passenger side, which is gonna be a timely process. There is a lot of work to do on that side lol. Anyways the car looks way better than it ever has, just gotta roll the quarter panels after some primer, put some seam sealer on and this side is ready for fillers.

Here are some pics

Anyways that is it for now, I should be getting this in some primer in the next couple of days. I still gotta spray inside the rocker like crazy and just coat it with primer lol. I am extremely happy with how everything is coming out, and progress is coming along quite well, I seem to be getting more done lately than I did at the beginning. Not too stoked on the wiring aspect of this build lol.

Hello Beyond, so I have made some progress on the car, and I now have all the rust removed from the driver side, and it is now in primer, I applied seam sealer to the quarter panel, and rolled it as well. I didn't put the car on the ground but I believe the fitment will be fine, the suspension was sucked up enough for me not to need to drop it on the ground to roll it. I have all the seam sealer smushed in the lip of the wheel well between the quarter panel, it worked great last time I built my rootbeer eg, so I did the same thing again. I applied some fiber glass to the quarter panel and put a guide coat on, I'll start blocking it out slowly, but my main concern now is to get onto the passenger side. The engine bay can wait currently, but as soon as the metal work is all done it'll be time to get serious on body work and as well start the wiring for my tuck eventually. I need to have a rough game plan before I paint my car incase I need to drill any holes. On another side note, I got a hell of a deal on a bunch of parts I needed, and some that are not needed. I got 2 complete doors, with everything attached(except hinges which I need), left side fender, integra front brakes non abs, head lights, tail lights, integra and civic brake mc, a d series tranny( I need a new one for the green car, mine grinds 3rd every time lol), stock civic rear brakes( drums, with everything attached though, a stock rad in great shape, with fan and hoses(just nice to have lol) stock control arms front and back lower and upper, rear hatch glass window. I think that is all lol, but I got all of that for $200, a few years ago I had to replace my friends door and paid $300 for one door cause I couldn't find one anywhere else. So I am happy with my purchase lol. Anyways here are some pics

I cleaned this part up a lot more, I didn't take a pic for some reason though

I sprayed some black primer along the seam before I seam sealed to ensure there was paint in there, with the gun it was hard to get it in there, so a spray bomb always comes in handy lol

That is all for now, it is nice to see this car in some primer now and starting to fase out the blue lol, I have chosen my color for the car, it is not oem, but that's ok, I like colors that are not very common, although Lausanne green is uncommon, but I just don't want to use that color, I wish it was a little darker, but whatever maybe I'll paint another eg down the line Lausanne green. I don't think I'll reveal the color until I am ready to start painting some parts. I should have some updates in the next week or so, we will see how much I work on the car this week.

Hello Beyond, so it has been a little bit since I have last updated the thread, due to I was trying to recover from an injury that came out of no where in my hip and groin, it basically left me useless with little to no strength. So I have been resting at home and missing work due to this crap. But the last couple days I have been feeling better and able to stand for more than 5 minutes without curling into a ball from strain, I think it had to do with lymph nodes and a nerve. But anyways I am now able to start working on my car again and I have decided to quit being a pussy and start the other side. I almost have the driver side quarter panel in shape and straight. I just need to finish sanding a couple spots of filler, spray some more primer and a guide coat and check it out, I do have one spot that will need a little filler, it was a high spot I had to knock down so hopefully I can get it straight first try lol, shoot that spot with primer and be done with that quarter panel. As for the passenger side I have removed the door and started to split the replacment panel apart. I have all the seam sealer off, all the spot welds center punched and started to remove the spot welds, I am not very far into it yet as there are prolly a good 150-200 to remove, but I have about 25 or so done I think lol. But basically I need to blow this panel right apart into every piece separated so I can patch all the pieces in one by one in the layers I needs to be completed in. I will be starting with the inner rocker panel, get that re secured to the floor pans and the seams I'll be joining into. Then the front subframe and jack point panel will be replaced onto of the inner rocker, then onto the outer rocker panel and front door hinge, just the lower section. Then quarter panel. It should all go smoothly I believe, I have spent enough time staring at it trying to figure out what to do lol. Any ways here are some pics, I'll prolly go pretty hard on this soon as I wanna see some new progress, the passenger side is hella ugly lol.

Second layer of fiber glass, I forgot to take pics I guess between layers, I made sure no fillers were on bare metal finishing removing the filler, fillers contain water which means rust on bare metal.

That is all for now, I got the rest of my black interior cleaned up, I also can another set of door panels to use, to get home and discover it had a nick in it, oh well I'll find another one lol. I hope to have an update soon with some cool stuff in it hopefully lol.

Hello Beyond, so I have been working on the car a little bit and have started the inner rocker panel. I almost have it welded in(as much as I can cause there is much more to replace), but I am atleast 75% complete what I need to do on it. The next step is to do the jack support, once I am done the inner rocker, I have some seam sealer to remove, some spot welds to drill out, then weld the jack support then onto the outer rocker panel followed by the quarter panel. I have more welded than what is in the pictures, just haven't taken one yet. I almost have the drivers rear quarter panel nice and straight, I have a little more filler to block out, then we will see it it's good, I think I am going to have one low spot that will need attention. But other than that it is looking good. I welded up some of the remaining patches in the engine bay, I have 4 more small patches and 2 holes left, some grinding, scuff the bay down and it's ready for primer, I will probably repair all the rust around the windshield and cowel area and spray that section at the same time, but the car is coming around to the point where metal work is completed. Anyways here are some pictures

Jack point removed, or subframe plate or whatever you want to call it

It will require a little attention on the inside

And we are good, I removed all the rust off the panel and sprayed it with some primer

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1651_zpsa135878a.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1651_zpsa135878a.jpg.html)

Note the slot I had to cut in the piece to be able to slide it into place, because of the tight fitment, I needed to have some room to get it in enough to get the corner past the remaining rocker panel, it worked great and I'll be able to weld it up when I take the outer rocker off

Don't mind the bent up jack point, it was so smashed in that was all I could do to get the new inner rocker in place lol

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y155/kashminsky/IMG_1661_zps03540c54.jpg (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/kashminsky/media/IMG_1661_zps03540c54.jpg.html)

Back in shape, yay

Anyways that is all I have uploaded so far, should have a bunch more done in the near future, I'd like to get that side rust free and the engine bay done soon, I have some rust to fix on the floor in the car, I'll have to figure something out for that.

Derek, Amazing work!!! Congrats on the House as well!! What a dream garage you scored.
Pictures do no justice in showing how much work this actually is, drilling, cutting, grinding, welding, more grinding, takes a lot of time, you make it look easy, and everything looks great.
I love seeing this kind of restoration, you gave me some great advice on welding panels a long time ago on my crx, and Ive spent the last year doing all this work, (not to the extent as with this eg), but both rear rockers, gas door, engine bay and both quarters. Pretty much teaching myself along the way and getting better at it.
I have a question about the inner wheel well. I see that you cut the inner wheel well arch (the bit that you roll after) where its spot welded from factory with the outer skin, and you welded up the outer skin along the body and rear.
What did you do on the inside to keep it rigid, because you rolled it later. Did you seam seal it, roll it, then fiberglass it?Im just curious. And what product are you using to oil or grease the insides with?
Sorry for writing you a book, Keep up the great work!! Cant wait to see more!
