Cheap(er) SAIT parking

I posted this in the parking at SAIT thread but more people might see it here and I was happy to get cheaper parking...

The city has two lots , on on 16th and one on 17th ave I think, they have spaces available now for SAIT students and it is $52.50 a month, I just switched from SAIT to here. You get a reserved numbered stall, surface parking.

As per the SAITSA website:

Call city parking authority and have them fax you a contract, it is direct debit not on your credit card but at less than half the price of SAIT it is a much better deal, and almost the same distance to walk depending on where your classes are on campus.

You fax back the contract, void cheque and copy of Student ID to 403-537-7001 ATTN Pina Biondo.
**and it is a re-entry lot as you just need to park in your numbered stall and display your pass. **

It took the guy a few days to get back to me initially. You could probably call Calgary Parking Authority and ask about it.
I went today and picked up my pass.

I finally got the contract email. The guy originally sent me the wrong one and i just finished emailing pina back.

How long did it take from your submission and to receive your pass?

I faxed my contract to Pina from school, drove home and she called me to say it was done and the pass was waiting at the Calgary Parking Authority for pick up, so maybe an hour?

Only thing that kind of sucks is if someone is parked in your spot and you call to get them towed you have to wait there for the tow truck and have your contract to prove the spot it yours. But for 52.50 you can't beat it.

I parked there today and my spot was empty, someone was parked idling and sitting in their car in the spot next to mine but they had no pass. They have a big sign MONTHLY PARKING ONLY so should be pretty clear it is reserved.

Yea, I hope I got a spot, I did get emailed an application so who knows.

I did make a mistake on my contract and put Jan 1st, intead of Dec. and Pina will not be in tomorrow, the 6th and 7th.
