Has anyone ever seen fake oil, such as a knock off?

Im meeting with a guy to get 4 bottles of mobil 1 synthetic for $24, but i was wondering if i should look for anything?

Thanks

If the bottles have been opened, or if the labels are a bit off, dont buy it.

But seriously thats a shit load of work for $24.
Times must be REALLY tough for some in this recession. :dunno:

hmm? hadn't thought of that, they could be refilling bottles with cheap-ass oil and selling
check them like bottled water when you travel, to make sure is sealed still

Was curious cause it seemed too good to be true, got 10 bottles of mobile 1 synthetic for $40. All the labels seem good and none are opened

i suppose it is possible - you can get counterfeit anything in China.

(just another example of how china is "winning" :banghead: )

Interesting how a country is "winning" when their people are little more then slaves. Most workers from China absolutely despise their lives.
But unfortunately, its a "job" so they keep on with it.

Probably just rolled up to a gas station and stole the goods. A Police Officer once told me if it's to good to be true it probably is. If you don't feel good about it just walk away.

My Napa salesman told me of clients buying house brand recycled 10w30 and selling it as performance dyno engine break in oil.. I guess any thing is possible with a bottle label printer.

i couldn't agree with you more. my winning comment was a reference to other comments in the "chinese bullet train" thread.

At worst the oil may have been stolen, but probably not fake.

+1 I say stolen. Don't snitch on the seller though, he's trying to feed his family.

No, take the time out of your day to somehow find a way to snitch on a guy selling $24 worth of motor oil. Ask him if he has any cars for sale too.

If you buy stolen stuff - don't be too pissed when your stuff goes missing. After all - you're in the business.
