we're making the switch from tenant to home owner and now comes the task of navigating utilities.

Is it better to go with direct energy or enmax and lump all of the utilities together? fixed or floating?

What do you use and what kind of savings did you see?

Stay away from direct energy. They are the biggest scam artists out there. I signed a contract with them and ended up with huge payments. Now I'm on a floating service with enmax and can't be happier. Gas prices are super low so no point locking in.

Direct Energy is a scam, stay as far away as possible, when they come to your door, slam it in their face or you'll be sorry...

Enmax is the way to go...

Enmax EasyMax, put the savings from the bundle on the bill each month. Save about $7 a month, and I'm happy with the rest of the rates.

Enmax easy max for all util.

Old place was 400$/month combined with DE and enmax... New place (bigger and more water consumtion) is about 180$/month for everything and it's a full house.

We're with SpotPower and our electricity bills have been dirt cheap. We pay just over .04/kwh... average monthly is about $35 for a 2500sq ft house.

My DE bill is $50 month in January so not very high. How do I switch to Easymax? Just call them up and they do the switch?

Just make sure you avoid Just Energy. They used to be Alberta energy and they're the biggest scammers of them all (in my opinion)
