Hi guys

As much as I like my Z, the replacement for our Matrix might be an EV.

Not plagiarism as the Beacon did give credit to the author/owner of the article. The real question should be whether or not the Beacon got permission to republish that article.

Some people are so quick to judge motives and throw someone under the bus it's embarassing.

Really?

If and only if that is indeed true, then WTF? That's pathetic. I dunno if that is true though, most of the articles use that same source (unless he changed it for all of them)

:thumbsdow

Markham began his journalism career writing columns in the mid-1980s for Western People Magazine, then reported for a small Saskatchewan daily. He has spent most of his career in media and communications, likes to dabble in politics, was actively involved in economic development for many years, thinks that what goes on in the community is just as important as what happens provincially and nationally, and has a soft spot for small business (big business, not so much). Markham is a bit of a contrarian and usually has a unique take on the events of the day.
So he began his journalism career writing columns, but now he writes about Citybeat news and copy/paste articles from other local writers? :nut:

Maybe you could argue that by promoting this paper you are indirectly funding them by giving the companies that pay for ad space exposure and subsequently potential income.

But then that would mean anyone posting a link to any free site on the internet that happened to have adverts would in fact be "advertising", how stupid would that be.

he is getting ad click revenue from the adverts on the page. And if his website were to ever become popular, he could sell it for a large sum of money.

what's not to judge? :dunno: i've seen people get banned due to advertising. just wondering what makes his case so unique (which was answered). you can be embarassed for me because i'm certainly not :nut:

Back to the EV question....

I would be more than willing to give a new Chevy Volt a try.

If I was in Cali, using the eco/car pool lane, sure an electric/hybrid car would be cool. Canada, winter and cheap fuel... not so much of a need.
