Hey guys my GF just picked up a 2001 pathfinder LE with the Bose sound system, im looking to do a deck install upgrade with a JVC KD R810 and was wondering from the install guru's here if i need to re-wire all the speakers due to the Bose amp like half the internet says to do or if i can buy something like this http://www.crutchfield.ca/OEM_Amplifier_Integration_v_4_94_up_Nissan_Infini_p/142c4nn03.htm and just wire it to the new deck? if so where could I pick one of these up locally? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated

TIA

Have the same car, got Visions to install my deck, they just charged me a basic deck install of $89 I believe. At that price, I believe there was no re-wiring done, just basic install so I would say no

I had a 97 pathfinder, with the bose system and the built in amp, I just did a regular deck install and it worked fine.

I can give you a hand if you want. I did my Alpine double din in my 97 Pathfinder with Bose system a few years ago.

K the point I'm trying to get at here is that the Bose system run off a 2 ohm setup where as the aftermarket deck runs off 4 ohm, I have done numerous installs to my other vehicles including my old 98 pathfinder but nothing with a Bose setup what I am wondering is if I need to install the converter to drop the aftermarket decks 4 ohms down to 2 so I don't burn out the deck I've been to visions and there answer was to rewire all the speakers to the deck and bypass the Bose amp altogether which I don't feel like doing.

Bump, did you figure this one out? Will be picking up a similar suv soon. I'm guessing that all you need is a dash kit + OEM bose harness?

I think the Bose system in these Pathfinders uses a different preout voltage than what an aftermarket deck puts out, so you may need a more pricey harness such as this:
