Five people were taken to hospital on Tuesday night as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the northeast. Just after 8 p.m., the Calgary Fire Department responded to a two vehicle car accident at the intersection of 32 Ave and 34 St N.E.

When crews arrived, they discovered two badly damaged vehicles, one car and one SUV. In the car there were two adult victims and in the SUV, there was an adult and two children.

The SUV had rolled over. One of the victims in the SUV had to be removed with the jaws of life.

All of the victims were removed from the vehicles and taken to hospital by EMS. Traffic on east bound 32 Ave was rerouted by the Calgary Police Service until the debris was cleaned up and the wrecked vehicles were towed away.
