16's on a VW Fox?

Ok, i have a 1993 VW fox with 175/70/13's on it stock. i want to purchase 205/40 tires with 16's with 40mm offset to put on it. many people have cleared me to do it but i am still sketchy on if i can clear the tie rod and wheel wells. can anyone help.

well it should be ok. As long as you have close to stock ride hight. If the wheels come back too far, just get spacers. As for wheel wells, i think it will work, but you'll have to try first. find a friend with 16's and test it out.
