The money is in the private dances they do that aren't through the strip clubs. I was in Vancouver a couple years ago on business and went to the Strip Club Cecil's on Granville (by far the classiest strip club I have ever been to with a bidet on stage) They had a policy there only bills, one girl had patrons put 5 $100 bills on the stage for her to ride the bidet.
My american business associates were very impressed but no so much about having to use bills since the smallest canadian bill was a $5 and their dollar wasn't doing great, so they resorted to tipping with US $1 bills. The dirty looks we got were unreal.

His "job" was to walk the strippers from the change room to the stage. He told me that the base pay is $40 a show and they do about three shows per day. so 40 x 3 = $120 and they would make atleast $150 in tips per day.

So $270 a day isn't bad of pay imho. But no money would be enough for any girls I know to do that job. These figures are also from about 4 years ago so I don't know how much things have changed since then.

I don't know I haven't been there since I retired and haven't needed to take clients there in over a year. I am heading to Van over christmas break and thought I might stop by for old times sake. I went to their website to see if I knew anyone who was dancing but their website was down, then after doing a google search I found out that it was closed.

As far as Cecil's being classy, I said it was almost classy, as in it was clean, the decor was somewhat classy, there are no coins allowed, and the strippers there are usually good looking. Not classy in a general sense but for a strip club it was one of the better ones out there imo.

As far as strippers being broke that is the case for many strippers. I was never really impressed with the calgary peelers in general compared to most clubs in Edmonton, but I know for a fact that if you are a decent looking dancer with a good act they can make good money. if you are one of the two bigger headline dancers, clubs will often pay $300 - $1500 / night for a dancer tips I have seen anywhere from $20 - $200 for a 3 song set, and then for private dances there can be a shit load made. going rates for an above average looking girl are $40 for a song and $120 for the deluxe which is 5 songs and touching allowed I got familiar with a a handful of strippers over the years, a few of my friends even dating them and the good ones were averaging $1500 - $2000 per week (3 days of work) with an occasional business trip to Showgirls in Fort Mac which could pay up to $5000 for a weekend much of it tax free.

My one friends Ex was 25 and she stripped regularly for Eden, Showgirls, and Diamonds in Edmonton and went up to Showgirls Fort Mac 4 times a year . My friend was unemployed and it was basically her income plus his EI for them to live on. She had been stripping for 6 years, had her house almost paid off, she drove an 08 BMW X3 and he had an 09 WRX 265.

From what I have found strippers are like most sales positions that make their money on commission many are terrible at their job and don't make much money, but there are some that are good at what they do and make a reasonable income at it.

This is my experience anyways, but for the 3 years I was in my profession I was at the peelers with clients 1-10 times a month ( around 150 times in 3 years) and have expensed close to $100k in those 3 years entertaining clients in gentlemen's clubs. We have, what, 3 peeler bars in a city of one million? shame. In Vancouver there must have been well over 30 bars. There's still a few of the classics around (Cecil, No 5, Drake) but they've gone way down hill as well. Once the bikers gave up most of the bars that was the beginning of the end.

No its not. All of Clark county (which inludes Vegas), prostitution is illegal. Only in a couple of nearby counties, and only then in licensed brothels.

Im not sure how Alberta works, but in BC they are paid by their grade. The higher the class they are the more the club pays for them. Makes the girls work hard at what they do so in the long run they can make more. also non of this throwing money at chicks. So nasty. In BC you would get kicked out of the club if you did that.

I guess they always watch their daughter on stage, as they were there from Edmonton, just dancing then heading back that night.

I was back in Calgary last week and hit the Viper room downtown for 5 hours on Friday night and thought of this thread.

Have you guys been to Brandi's in Vancouver? A+ talent. It is the same place that got Ben Affleck split with J-Lo. Kinda hidden though on the 4th floor of an office building downtown. The concierge at our hotel (Four Seasons or Marriott) managed to get us access. Just to get a booth was $150, so we just sat at the bar. Handful of Chinese mafia types in the corners.

Used to frequent clubs in Calgary often in my late teens because a coworker friend participated in amateur nights. Got boring real fast but we used to go often for the arcade, table tennis and free pool.
