Man Struck By Car Early Friday Morning In Life-threatening Condition

A 50-year old man is clinging to life after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning while crossing the intersection at 17 Ave S.W. and 26 St.

According to the Calgary Police Service, at approximately 00:22 a.m. a vehicle was traveling westbound on 17 Ave SW at 26 St SW. The 30-year old female driver of the car had a green light as it passed through this intersection.

The male was crossing from south to north on the west side of the intersection against the signal. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.

The male was struck and thrown to the north side walk. He was transported to hospital is serious life threatening condition.

This incident remains under investigation by the Calgary Police Service Traffic Section.
