Hit and run Toyota Tacoma homo

I am sick and tired of the cowards that hit and run people.

This weekend, I was parked in front of my gf's house and noticed damage to my front bumper. The damage on my front bumper is from a hitch off of the truck that was parked in front of me. I even measured the height of the hitch and the damage on my vehicle and it matched up exact. Looking closer at his hitch, I also noticed that the paint chipped off from my bumper was on his hitch.

Immediately after figuring out the neighbour douchebag that owns the Tacoma, I confronted him about the damage his truck did to my car. He denied everything and claimed that his daughters car was parked between ours the night previous in which I know fact because i hadn't even moved my car yet. I laughed when he told me that his daughter's car was there seeing as she was 13 and we had never seen a small silver car out front before.

I called the non-emergency police line and explained to them my situation and they told me to wait at the scene until an officer could come check it out. A cop showed up and I explained to them the situation and the police told me that there was nothing that they could do about this because there was no proof that it was the exact vehicle even though, the car had not moved since the incident and there was evidence on his hitch.

I think this is complete bullshit because now if I go through insurance to fix the damage, my deductible is $1000.00 and it is going to cost about $1200.00 to replace. That douchebag gets to walk away without coughing over the dough for my bumper. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do about this?

Call your insurance company, provide them with all his details and tell them you want them to look into recovering the repair amount from him. Don't fix it until they get his company on board. A simple height measurement should put it to rest.

Doubt they'll do much. Did the police at least file a report? If they did, then maybe you have evidence the insurance company can use to go after the guy. Otherwise, it's just your word against his.

The hit and run laws need to be re-written in my opinion. A girl was rear-ended right infront of our work a few weeks back, the dude drove AROUND her after hitting her, fingered her and drove off. She has the license plate of the dude and the cops still say it's her word againts his because there was "minor" damage to her back bumper they couldn't determine for sure it was him. Total Bullshit.

I was the victim of a hit and run back in august. I was rear-ended on the road and the guy who hit me drove up the side of my car scraping it the entire way then proceeded to drive his wife to work while I followed him.

I reported it to the cops and they refused to even give him a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident because he says he waved for me to follow, and its my word against his. :banghead:

If you hide a fake or real gun in his truck (preferably in the same place as his insurance/registration) then call the cops saying his truck is being stolen. They ask for papers, then boom, possession of a weapon. Might as well throw some blow in with it.
