Too bad the US government didn't make a task force for katrina or still don't have a task force for getting healthcare to 911 first responders.

Using stolen tax money to fund operations to prevent the public from knowing what their stolen tax money is funding is sort of brilliant in a pretty sick kinda way.

To bad American domestic policy is a matter for Americans, not Canadian keyboard politicians.

You don't need to be American to have empathy.

I believe it just passed Senate.

What drives me crazy about American politics (and at the same time makes it interesting to watch) is the completely ass-backwards way that they go about operating and NO ONE has a problem with it, even if they are the ones getting screwed!

Republicans create a filibuster until they are able to save the Bush tax breaks for the top 2% of earners in America. That included the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell AND The Zadroga Bill (in a nutshell, a health fund for 9/11 first responders now ill-stricken). Where are the other 98% of the population? Are they that reliant/loyal to the GOP that the 99% of other Republicans who don't make $200k a year are totally okay with paying more, or even equal, taxes to make up for the tax cuts to those who do?

And for the GOP, who has used 9/11 as a rally-cry for all things they oppose, how does the public continue to support a party who uses 9/11 as a means to push their agenda THEN turn your backs on those who risked their lives and their health in the events? They praise and the applaud the first responders for their actions, then tell them to fuck off when those very actions could have very well caused their illnesses. Yet, few people were visibly or vocally outraged.

It's the earmarks in the US political system that fascinates me. You think they're voting for a tax bill, but due to partisan politics, they'll add in earmarks to sweeten the deal for the other party. This state will get a bridge here, extra funds for an clean energy program, a school here, tax breaks for business, etc.

At which point, they're no longer really voting for a 'tax bill'.

Anyone know when the banking stuff is coming out? I'm excited to see that one!

As for this article... so much for freedom of the press. The Americans actually believe the best way to deal with Wikileaks is send the CIA after them? Pttf. Ah well, the average American prolly thinks Wikileaks are a bunch of "terrorists", so they might chear this on.
