Anyone know where to find any truffles in Calgary? And by truffles, I mean the mushroom type, not the chocolates :)

Haven't had any luck at the local grocery stores, so I thought I'd ask here.

Thanks guys!

Savour Fine Foods in Inglewood has them I do believe.

Savour has truffle oil but no truffles.

I don't think anyone carries truffles due to a relatively short shelf life and limited demand.

you could try call one of the nicer resturants, ask to speak to the chef before giving reason for inquiry
try like the palliser maybe? and inquire about buying some, the chef might accomodate you, especially if you play up the aspiring chef angle LOL

Try Mercato on 4th. They only have them in for a few months of the year, worth a call :)

Places like Bite and Fresh Kitchen have them canned year round. Pretty sure you can only get fresh ones in summer but I could be wrong. You can try L'Epicerie downtown though.

Melinda, give Tony at Worldwide foods a call.

They are a wholesaler, but he may be willing to sell you some.

Any restaurant would get them from him.

You should be able to get 'preserved' ones but not fresh at this time of year.

Do you need to borrow my truffle shaver?

cheers
