So I get free fuel for my place of employment and plan on doing a road trip to the states in April. my question is would there be any issues crossing the border with a large amount of extra fuel on board I would have a slip tank and the rest of the bed full of jerry cans. would there be any reason to not allow me to cross with this fuel?

If you're taking your ranger then I think a bigger problem would be accelerating with that much weight in the back. I once took a ranger from work camping and after I filled it with wood and camping gear I couldn't even make it up hills.

the ranger will be fine. it has the 4.0 Much better then the older 2.9s and 3.0s

sell gasoline cheaper here, take money with you.

list the gas at 90 cents/litre here on beyond.

afaik, there are laws as to how much gasoline you can legally carry, without dangerous goods. And to be legal, gasoline slip tanks are different than diesel. I am sure that there are different laws that apply to different states as well. Not sure if this affects border crossing:dunno:

nah the gas is not worth .90 its junkyard gasoline (old cars diesel goes in there too in small quantities)

SHHHHHH the plan is now ruined.

I think the jerry cans is where you will get flack as long as it is a properly spec'd slip tank. I know guys that come back across with them full of fuel with no issues (after they have been down there for an extended stay)

the tank im not worried about just the jerries. might only bring 5 or so and use them before the border crossing.

I'm pretty sure you will need to fill out TDG paperwork to carry that much gasoline. Even if it is legal though, they will never let you across the border with a truck bed full of gas cans. They are going to think you are a terrorist, it wont help that you'll have no reciept for any of it.

Use them before the border crossing... You would put junkyard gas in your brand new truck?
