Just in case it's any help.
There was also a 2.3 l Turbo in some Mercury Cougar XR-7s.
Not sure what years mine was an 86.

Good Luck!

depends which engine you currently have in your stang.

If it's the naturally aspirated 2.3L engine, then I would say save your money and just purchase a 2.3L Turbo engine to put in there. The reason being is if you want the turbo for the NA engine, you will need the turbo exhaust manifold for the turbo, the turbo itself, and all the ancillaries that goes along with a turbo system. Next up is the ECU for a turbo 2.3 engine (merkur XR4ti, mustang SVO, Turbocoupe). After that comes the head. The NA head is different from the turbo head. I'm not saying it won't work if you don't swap heads, but it won't be the most ideal setup if you don't swap.

Hope that helps you out.
