04 Nissan Maxima SL

Hey Beyond,

I'm going to be looking at a 2004 Nissan Maxima SL tomorrow for the wife, and just wondering if anyone on here has ever owned one? Are there certain things I should look for? any good/bad experiences?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had an 04 maxima when they first brought out that body style. It was a great car, buddy of mine just picked up and 05. I had a 6 speed, which was a tad rough other then that, no major problems

3.5L 04 maxima has recalls on rear suspension, 40% of the owners on a maxima forum developed tranny issues, It's a HUGE car literally(longer/wider than a legacy gt station wagon). Other then that it's petty powerful, VERY quiet and comfy... sort of reminds me of a lac
