I don't know why, but I'm hopelessly addicted to making wine! I have this crazy sudden urge to make more and more wine,.. but I don't have enough stuff!!!

I was never interested in the kits,.. basic red/white wines. I am very intrigued at making crazy fruit combos!

In light of all of this!

I propose a trade if anyone is interested!

I need bottles: wine bottles - I'll trade off some completed stuff

Or maybe trade some completed bottles for more wine making supplies!

Anyone thirsty?

I'll take some pomegranate honey dew, and a couple others. PM me your number and where abouts is a good time & place to meet you.
How much per bottle?

you can go to any wine making supply store and buy the blank bottles, the corks and the foil caps all for about $1/bottle ;)

My old co-worker used to make wine, and fuck it was better then ANYTHING I've tried under $300 a bottle.
(and that includes everything I had over in Italy this spring)

damn Jay, thats sweet. I wouldn't mind trying the Mango/Strawberry, I don't drink alcohol but with that sweet combo I will start haha. Maybe someday I can drop by and drop off your tools, and try some of your craziness.

You always surprise me haha, wine making, making your own paper..what's next?

FYI: I can't sell the liqour - against AGLC

but I do want to trade so I can carry on with my drunk hobby! Hopefully without putting any more money in it!

If someone donates supplies or equiv,.. I can "gift" them a bottle.

I just love making wine!

No I used to hate wine as well until I tried a few varieties from some select vineyards... that makes ALL the difference.
Rage, if you want an awesome wine that'll really change your perception, try this Italian wine:

Masi - "Amarone" its about $40/bottle depending on where you go, and it still one of the best wines I've ever had, thats what got me into wines originally.

thats awesome! I have been wanting to try making my own for a while now. What is your recipe? How did you learn to make it? What all do you need for supplies?

Oooo,.. recipes are different for every wine I've made so far.

I learned from Spikers - he bought a kit and some supplies.

While he was doing that, I searched the internet and experimented (turned out horrible,.. LOL,... but it might've been something I would give to an enemy)

Eventually I found some good wine making routines that were very similar to each other and followed, except with my fruit recipes.

Spikers told me what his kit entailed him to do and when things are to be done.

I freakin love that guy for getting me started, but my liver hates him!

What also helped jump start,.. he bought out an old guy that had a whole wack of stuff, but had arthritis and couldn't make wine anymore (you can imagine the deal he got),.. all the extra stuff he didn't need, he passed to me in lieu of a couple bottles of each batch I make for as long as I make wine :D

In the end,..I learned from spikers making a wine kit.

So if you want to make wine,.. get a wine kit and start from there!

I think for about $100 in basic equipment plus whatever a wine kit would cost, will give you about 19 litres of wine.

I hate to be the douche-nozzle that says it, but be careful, dependency can sneak up on you when you least expect it, most times it starts just like this and starts building from here.

That being said, (sorry it needed to be) sure, send me your PM, and I'll give you a few GC's for some.

Can't believe I got involved without even posting.

I was gonna say, you should save a few dozen cases for your newborn for 16 years... They sure would appreicate daddy's efforts once the high school year kicks in.

No worries, I understand the douche-nozzleness and am keeping mental note of when I'm drinking,.. I know the perils of alcohol,.. owned a bar once - hence my user name

Wow Jay, I don't know how you are pumping these out so fast...

but anyways, I have also expanded my horizons and have started making beer as well as my wine.

but back to the main point, I really gotta say you need to let your wines age more, they will develop so much more, and you won't end up with "sparkling" wine.

And here is my last wine label that I made for a mandarin orange / banana wine. I bottled it in November, and won't be ready to drink until middle to end of February.

I just started a Valentines Wine

will only have about 30 bottles in this batch, was more expensive for all the supplies for this as opposed to what I've usually been spending.

Strawberry/roasted chocolate almond wine

I should be bottling this by the end of the month
