Throwing all cars numbers up on different days (and YEARS!!) and calling it a test is silly. Just the wind direction and speed can throw + or - 2 seconds into any comparison.. and if it's raining or wet, forget about it.

How is the mustang gt 8 seconds slower than the v6?

I would assume the V6 is the new 300HP unit. And the GT is not the new 5.0 (which is @ 3:08) but the older 315HP V8.

There was a previous test, where it was 8 sec. slower, must have been a shitty day/driver, since the same model did it faster on the next test. (the HP difference between those GT years was only a increase of 15, so I can't see that being the deciding factor)

I think they made it as fair as possible I know they lap each car for two days and take it's best lap time so I think the results are actually fairly representative of the cars performance.

No, 8 full seconds. 8.4 in fact.

I didn't notice the difference in the dates though, and yeah it was probably one rain test and one dry test.

Can't beat the Mustangs for bang for the buck. A good showing for the 2010 EVO X SE. All the hype over the 2011 STI being the fastest STI ever and it's over three seconds slower than the EVO X SE.

The SE is the one that takes the go fast bits from the MR (Bilsteins, two piece rotors, twin clutch) and puts it on the GSR right?

Yeah it's basically a GSR with the TC-SST, MR two piece rotors, and MR Bilstein shocks/Eibach springs and no rear spoiler. They were only sold in the US as late 2010 models. Not sure why they didn't make them a permanent addition as it was priced between the MR and GSR so buyers that wanted the TC-SST but didn't want to ante up for the MR could still get the transmission.

Lighter BBS wheels too vs. Enkei right? So are we going to get the SE here?

Nope. The SE gets the Enkei wheels. Don't think we are getting them here.

Stock yes. Not sure how they've taken to mods or what the max power the stock block can handle.

I'm fairly confident the Neon srt4's A853 engine is still the easiest to gain power and be able to handle it. On a FWD car BTW.

I did think the Cobalt SS sedans were pretty slick. Although no more FWD for this guy.

This thread is about stock cars is it not?

Of course. It's always better to start with a good base for modding. The handling and braking really set it apart from the rest.

I'd have to agree that the SRT-4 is probably a better base if you want balls out power, hell doesn't the Mopar Stage 3 kit take these things to 400ish Crank HP. There are a few options for the Cobalt SS Turbo:

Factory Installed GMS1 Kit 280WHP/300WTQ
Bolt Ons + Mild Aftermarket Tune 300-325WHP/330-360WTQ
Full Bolt Ons (Stock Turbo) + Agressive Tune 350-390WHP/350-400WTQ
Aftermarket Turbo Stock Engine/Tranny 400-450WHP/420+WTQ

Atleast those seem to be the numbers most guys are getting at different levels of mods on CSS.net and other sites.

But I'm not trying to get side tracked here.

I admire how Chevy has kept the Corvette among the best of the best.

Especially with the "big bad ass V8" attitude, If I was looking for B for B, Id 110% buy a Z06.

^iirc...Cobalt SS blocks//internals are fairly weak around the 325whp range?

The old Supercharged motors weren't as strong, these new ones have no problems running that sort of power and more as reliable DD's. Ask me how I know ;)
