While visiting family for Xmas my dad mentioned something about an old Doge Colt or something sitting in a farmers field.
Well we bundled up and headed out for some pictures. As I first looked at it I thought it might have been a old Celica but once we started brushing off the snow we noticed what it really was-a 1971 Toyota Crown with the 2600 straight 6 and a Toyoglide automatic. I have never seen a Crown in Canada ever and this one was pretty cool.
Body is kind of rough-almost every body panel had been creased in some form or another, the body has lots of surface rust and the one rocker panel we could see was rusted out as was the gas filler but the wheel wells looked pretty good. The glass looked intact as did all the trim. The front turn signals were both broken but the rears were mostly intact.
Looked like 88XXX miles on the O/D-interior looked OK at best.

It is for sale; I do not know the owner nor am I posting it for anyone so if you want more details I can provide them. This car is out in the open and is visible to anyone but I won't post the location here. This is simply a spotted thread.
It is a pretty interesting rare car (for Canada, any way) and would make a cool resto mod/drift car with a modern drivetrain.

that is really cool! I am surprised, usually it is the wheel arches that are the worst but on this car they look to be the best part of the body haha.

^ It would be SO easy to make that car absolutely bad-ass.

My mind boggles with all the things & combos you can do.

But what you said seems to be coolest way, only some 18-19" deep dish rims to me would be well in order. :dunno:

Hahah, they made a pickup version too, I'd totally rock a clean one of these.

It does look like a lot of work. As I mentioned the one rocker is rotted out and I suspect the other is as well. The wheelwells look real clean and those I would have figured would have been worse than they are.
Here's another pic I found...

And it looks like the windshield is intact as well.
If anyone wants more info PM me here.

The floor pan is probably massively rusted out, judging from other cars of the era.

That said, it sure looks better than I'd expect a 1971 Toyota to.. You could import parts from some of the JDM shops to restore it and fix it up. Someone should!

I didn't realize Crowns actually came to North America, but considering it's left-hand-drive they must have. Either that, or it was somehow imported from a LHD European country but I can't think of which. Is there a VIN on the dashboard or anywhere else to run? Maybe repost this on Japanese Nostalgic Car or one of the other Japanese restoration forums and they might be able to give more information about it.

It wouldn't be cheap, but imagine the end result.

I wish I had the room, I really want an old Datsun 510.
