the top speed depends on the transmission mostly... not as much on the engine.

so depends if you keeping your stock crx transmission then somebody here probably knwos the gear rations

Lol when are you ever going to use top speed. Maybe 4 times in the life of your car, and you'll be peeing yourself in fear as everything will be shaking. Especially in an '89...

Im just curious....i like going fast sometimes just for a kick....my old car 88 beretta v6 5spd, with intake and exhaust(not much), i got up to 200 on a shit ass road.

which reminds me oh when i raced a guy on the highway...ended up about 180....hehh that was a good time...

pansies! lol j/k...ive got my Jetta over 200 and its a Brick on wheels!....my MR2 was pretty damn crazy at high speeds, most of my friends thought that 145ish was actually like 190 just because of how low it was...pretty much the same feel as a crx i would think :dunno:....got that to about 210 or so once, never did it again.

Some guy in a golf blew by me on deerfoot, so i attempted to catch up, i think it mustve been the vr6, and slowly i was gaining on him, then when i was only within a couple meters of passing him, KABLAMO, felt like i hit a wall. Turns out my speed limiter is at 210km/h. I also hit my rev limiter once in third, got to 160, forgot to shift, lol.

I have a stock 88 crx SI, i'm talking BONE STOCK here. I hit 200 but then again, that's as far as my tach would go.......dunno if i was going any faster. With a light car like a crx, it feels like you're literally flying so i wouldn't suggest it =)

i hit 200+KM in my bone stock 89 CRX Si on the way to Vancouver trying to "race" (not really race, but drive with a Mustang SVT Cobra). I had a bit more on the tach, but I also had my friend in the car and the entire back was loaded with gear since we were on the way to California at the time. The Speedo also tops out at 200km/h, so after that, you're just guessing. Mind you, if you hit a speed trap, they RCMP would sure as hell tell you as they hauled your ass to jail!!!

200KM in a little CRX = :)

I was surprised how well my CRX kept up with the Cobra to, I mean, he killed me up hills, but downhill and straigh aways, I could "keep up" - as much as I could considering he had 4 times the horsepower.

I miss my CRX - it would have been a nice winter car.

I'm pretty sure it's 110mph(180km/h) on all JDM cars, although you can get rid of it easily.
