Flames warm-up, etc

I am taking my dad to a game tonight. What time should we go if we want to watch the players warm up, etc? This is his first game, I'd like to enjoy the whole experience. Any tips? Thanks!

around 6pm should be enough, they warm up for about 30 mins, then flood for 20. some pregame stuff and puck drop around 705

How are you guys getting there? Parking is kind of expensive but the c-train gets so packed right after the game.

Typically the doors don't open until 1 hour before game time so there's not much of a point of going too early to stand around in the cold.

Where are you guys seated? Have fun at the games!

fare for c train - $2.75 x2 people = $5.50 each way.
it costs $12 to park on the grounds, theres plenty of parking nearby for $10 so its not all that bad. you either deal with traffic or a ton of people on the trains, your choice:dunno:

We were thinking about park and ride. Head downtown and grab a beer and according to Trieuth, be at the game for 6.

Is the casino a good place for a pregame pop and walk over? We are in row four, section 112. I spent too much for the tix, but my first time being that close to the action. Same for the old guy. Thanks for the help guys!

If you're going to the Casino before you can park their for free. Just tell them your going in to eat (which you are).

Good for you! You won't believe how much more enjoyable a game is at this seating. You really get an appreciation of how fast these guys are. Great location too...the corner gives you good overall viewing to all 4 corners.

And good on you for taking Dad and making the whole night of it. I can't believe how some people will drop 4 or 5 hundred dollars for the night, show up a few minutes into the game, and leave a few minutes early on a lopsided win. I get there the minute the doors open and stay right to the bitter end. I'll even sit and watch everyone pile out...just sit and relax...take in the view...and then walk out when the ushers are telling me "time to go".

Heck you can just park in their lot and just walk right THROUGH the casino. Done it many times.

Well, while the Flames didn't perform adequately, the evening was a blast. We had a burger at the casino, caught the guys warming up and enjoyed everything to the bitter end.

You are dead right C_Dave45, I have a new appreciation for the game and the players. The action is crazy fast. The plays come together so quickly, it looks like a given on TV, but in reality it is hard to put a finish on them! We had great fans around us (i.e. no jackasses). It was an awesome night we won't forget.

It's fun watching the level they play at until you get the point where you realize that they're assholes because you can't do it yourself. Like when they kick the puck from their skate straight to their blade and shit.

go spend half our at the ODR and you'll be able to do that too. But even playing hockey all my life and watching it too those mother fuckers do still amaze me lol... They are just TOO talented.
