I would say $8000 if its in garbage shape.

If its rebuilt and in good shape, then $11,000 tops.

its in excellent condtion its just the front carbon fibre fenders have have a couple little cracks along the wheel well from the car being to low at a point so the tires rubbed during turns... but hes throwing in 2 stock fenders aswell...

If its rebuilt properly I would say around $11k.

I am in the market for one as well, for 8k, you are looking at buying a big piece of junk from the states. You can get a clean title one from the US for around $14-15k said an done with taxes.

I'd really check the hell out of whatever's behind that "carbon fibre" front end. If they cracked up the front in the accident (which it seems they did) you could be in for a real world of hurt with the front suspension/steering/etc.

Alberta rebuilt inspections are not exactly as rigorous or enforced as the government implies they are. Get a clean one from the States.

If its in good condition i'd pay 10.
Canadian car?
Rebuilt title drops the value a lot in my books

I remember checking out that car. I have the carfax. 23k worth of damage back in 06 or something... Its okay, seems like it was rebuilt fine though.. But that amount of damage must have been pretty intense.

Has carbon fenders and a j's front lip right?

That should tell you if any of the suspension is bent or otherwise damaged.

I'd probably also pony up for an inspection at the Honda dealer or a mechanic you trust who is familiar with the model. If you're saving this much money you might as well spend some of it making sure you won't get screwed in the end.

Well considering there is people on here selling JDM Civics with no engine for $4000 bucks I'd say the S2000 with repaired damage is worth minimum 10k.

If you can ever find me a s2000 for 8 grand rebuilt in decent shape I would buy it in a heartbeat because the cheapest one in the city right now is 14k (clean title). A rebuilt one doesn't sell for 50% off....

Regardless 8 grand is a massive low ball and I was actually wrong, the cheapest one is 15k (kijiji).

:werd: Sure the car is not worth as much as a clean active no accident one. but it's not worth ~half the price of one. My friend was selling an 02 Accord 150 k, rebuilt. It was a really small hit, fixed it and was getting offers from $1800-$3000 all dau long.

If it's a proper repair job, I'd say 10k is fair, but you could get lower if the guy really wants to sell.

The alignment idea is good as it let's you know if there are any frame issues or bent components left over from the crash. I'd figure that a 23k fix-up would've probably taken care of everything and alot of the replacement parts would be new-ish.

people on beyond think rebuilt cars are totally fucked! reality is that 80% of them are light hits like these.

all these are rebuilt, you tell me if it effects the driveibilty of the vehicle.

this is non-repairable, missed the frame rails, all it needs is the suspension! 5km on it, what a car!

Some of you need to realize that asking price does not equal selling price. A rebuilt car , although might be 100% fine, still affects peoples perception and it's their perception that dictates the market.

Jeremiah

Yo Moeman, how much was that Mustang?

Joe-G
01-07-2011, 05:40 PM
Meh, buy it! If you think its a fair deal then go ahead...
Everything else is still upwards of 16k at the moment. If your fine with owning a rebuilt vehicle, at the end of the day it doesnt really matter... Its when you try and resell it that will bite you in the ass.
