Not to mention the fans are absolutely insane. Check out the last bit of this video from the driver's perspective

Great vid OP. You guys should check out the Too Fast to Race documentary about group b on youtube it's split into 7 parts or something .

Really spectacular era of rallying, basically no limits on the cars and the homologation numbers were so low that manufacturers could afford to make insanely fast cars.

Plus the 80s colour schemes and aero are awesome

Pretty much lol someone correct me if I'm wrong but some of those Lancia's and Audi Quattro's were cranking out around 600HP in a car that weights as much as one of today's cars doors. :D

Thanks OP that was a cool video.

The Audi Quattro S1 weighed 2100lbs and produced a 'conservative' 600bhp.

EDIT:

Also, if anyone was curious, the car that explodes at the beginning is an RS200 being driven by Marc Surer on the Hessen Rally on 31st May 1986. Sadly the car leaves the road and as a result Michel Wyder, the co-driver, died and Marc received serious injuries and burns from which he eventually made a good recovery. Consider this a testament to Michel and all drivers and co-drivers who entertain us by taking these risks in the pursuit of performance.
