Nice Ekliptix!!!!!!!

We'll have to get together sometime and do some funky macro photography and delayed shutter speed shots. I have yet to test out my new camera and I have had it for like a week or more...I get my CF card back on tuesday...horray!

If you would like, you can display your work on my website when I get it finished.

They didn't have many selections of digital cameras/camcorders, so you didn't miss out.

the Canon D60 is more in the range of 4000 or so. Hey Ekliptix, what kinda lens is on you digital camera?? I think it should be a leica lens.

Ekliptix

yes, Leica DC Lens. I heard that they're very good. I'm a little worried about cleaning the lense though. Cotton cloth w/ breath is ok right? With the available close up lense, it should be really impressive. I wish it came w/ a remote like the G2 though. It's got appature(sp?) priority, where you set the appature and the f-stop adjust's itself for the light. There's shutter speed priority too. I heard that panisonic accessories like lenses, batteries, and memory cards are cheaper then canon's so that's good.

but mine's all black.

I just have a Canon Powershot s200.

I didn't have heaps of cash, but I am completely satisfied with this cameras perfmormance...even the movie campure feature is decent, I thought it would suck, but its actually quite clear, and the sound works well. For a 600 or so dollar camera, damn great deal.

Macro wise, its not that great though...

This picture was taken on the second best setting for quality, at about 10cm. Probably could have gotten a bit closer, but not much. My New Glasses, heh.

But anyways, I'm game for any type of pictures, so lemmie know.

That looks pretty good to me. Lighting is super important too though.

Here's some macro/close up's I've taken w/ my parent's 2.1Mp Canon S100(PS perfected btw):

what do you do in PS to perfect the pics?

Ekliptix

Each pic gets different treatment. Usually the easiest way to make an image look better is to go to image-adjust-auto levels.

Satutation, sharpness, brightness, and contrast are very effective enhancers too. I'll post a before an after pic soon.

kewl, that leica lens is one of the best on the market right now from what i've seen. Funny thing is the Leica counterpart of your camera sells for 200-300 more than the panasonic one, and they are identical items (except for some misc accessories which comes with the leica).

As for cleaning, don't use your breath to clean it. If it is just dust, or light dirtiness just clean it with the cloth (lens cloth for glasses will do just fine). But if there's oily bits (ie:finger print) then use lens cleaning solution. Never your breath cos there's bacteria etc...in breath condensation which will harm the coatings on your lens.

I've been attemting some night shots with my camera, they are not toooo bad, could be better, but this isn't a top of the line camera. I have to learn how long to run the exposure...this one was at 8 seconds. I'm going to try 10 next time. This was taken through two panes of glass, so mind the distortion.
