The car is an 08 civic si coupe, white with 70xxx on it. They are asking 18950 for it plus tax. With 10k down payments are 230 a month at 4.9%. So the question is what do you think he should ask for in terms of a deal? There was a navi unit at the dealership they wanted 2g for installed would it be fair to ask for that? It was the factory unit with the dash pieces that would come in the Csx. What about 18500 tax in?

Any opinions would be great he plans on going down with his dad but he is not sure were he should start in terms of negotiating and I know alot of you guys have done this before

Sounds expensive for that amount of mileage and year. Also the transmissions are glass on these cars so ensure that 3rd gear works properly.

from what we have seen at stealerships it seems average. Still no input on what you guys think about in terms of what kinda deal he could get or at least ask for :dunno:

Should be able to buy brand new with a lower inerest rate (.9% for 24 and 36 months) and the price will likely only be 100 bucks more a month, maybe even less .

Red deer honda has an 08 Si coupe with 46k on it for 17,999 and on 36 months with 10k down it is only 239 bucks.
They also have an 09 sedan Si for 21,995. I am sure you could knock these prices down a bit also.

I'm assuming he means to write 160K kms or he means to write 19k. Probably more likely to be 19k.

I'm assuming you are going to dealerships because you need to finance? Get a line of credit and buy privately. You called them stealerships for a reason.

08 and up should be free of 3rd gear problems.

yikes those are expensive payments for the amount you're putting down! nice car, but not worth that much.

The car isn't for me but a friend I would not buy at a dealership. I still haven't got any ideas on if he could get them down on there price?

You could always come take a look at mine...? Its for sale and its about similar to what you described above.

Im pretty open to working out a deal...there is a 2006 Si Coupe in the marketplace also.

That's too bad. When buying used it makes things that much more difficult when you focus on a single color as the best car and deal may be in a different color plus the whole Type R thing is pretty outdated now.

I have a white 07 si, and 2g for a navi installed is expensive. Also try and get that interest rate down. Man 18g I wish someone would by mine for that

Nope had 16000km and sold for 9000

We originally put it for 16 then we took it to Michener auction and sold it there

Had a minor accident but was still active and warranty was intact

Exactly why I bought an 08, if you research you can find the VIN's that were defective.

Don't forget brand new Si MSRP is like $30,000(?) or close to it, a 2year old Si can be had for like 50-60% of that.
Like 4doorj said....bank loan and stand clear of the dealership.
