Does anybody have the powerpoint slides that corresponds with each chapter of the textbook?
I'm in Anita Lakra's class but she does not post those because she thinks people will skip her classes, but I find them helpful (in acct 317) and I still went to class.

Unfortunately she teaches 4 of the 5 lectures this term, and the 1 that she doesn't teach, that prof posts the powerpoint slides so I don't see why she doesn't as well :dunno: .

Is anybody willing to share them with me :) ?

Lol, I couldn't stand sitting in her class trying to decipher what the hell shes writing for the entire class. I'll try to keep you up to date with the slides as he posts them.

I'm in the same situation as the OP, I don't find her writing *too* bad, but I just find powerpoints to be more effective while study.

EDIT: Never mind, take back what I said, her writing was TERRIBLE today. :banghead:

The only other ACCT323 class that isn't taught by Lakra is MW 9:30-11. The class doesn't usually fill up so you could get away with attending that class if you want. PM me if you want to join that class and I can share the slides with you to as they get posted. :thumbsup:

Lakra is a bad teacher, slides are mostly useless as well.

When studying for quizzes or the exams, do the self tests, those are what the tests are based off of and sometimes they take questions directly from there.

If you read the text+do self tests, you're set. Chapter questions are alright - but the ones in the self tests are way better/harder, so you should get those ones done first.

Overall class was pretty easy.

I believe the exam is 30 or 35 MC which is 75% of the test and 2 written questions for the other 25%.

So is the quiz only gonna be on chapter 9? I checked blackboard and Lakra said only the stuff we've covered in class and exercises we did in class only go up to chapter 9 but in the course outline it says we should've covered some of chapter 10 already

i took the quiz today (wed) and pretty much the quiz covers everything from the last quiz til now. your gonna need to know moh variance, company segments, and the minimum transfer price stuff we did the last day. sorry about the very late reply, good luck.

When I took it last spring it was only midterm onwards.

^I'd like to know this too, I think I was late to the class she talked about the final cuz I haven't missed a class and when I asked her whether the final is cumulative or not she told me she talked about it in one of the classes already.

I agree! shes the worse proff I've had to date. and yeah the last quiz only covers chapter 12 she finally answered with a straight answer instead of saying "look at the outline"

Got a quick question to all those that have taken, or are taking it. I'm doing Q12-5 right now.

So i'm given Unit CM for 3 products
A- $18
B-$36
C-$20


I'm told Direct Labour rate is $8/hr, and this is the Direct Labour Cost
A- $12
B- $32
C- $16

We're told thtat 3000 hours of labour time is available.

It asks to figure out the CM that will be obtained per hour of labour time spent on each product. So we're NOT looking for CM/unit, we are looking fore CM/hr of the constrained resource.
This is what i did.
A - ($18/unit)/[(12/8)] = $12/hr
B- ($36/unit)/[(32/80] = $9/hr
C- ($20/unit)/[(16/8)] = $10/hr

So we'd pick A then C, then B - Correct? I ended up missing that class, and got the notes from a friend - and her notes make no sense. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm in Lakra's class and she said it was everything from Ch9-12.
So from Budgeting onwards.

Does Rahman's class have the exam on the 29th? WTF?

And why ch8? It was before the midterm, yet lakra says everything that is shown after the midterm is to be on the exam!

I had this last semester, and without attending a single one of Lakras lectures (:D) I rocked the final...

As long as you at least skim the textbook and understand the practice final you should be good to go, but ymmv.

I can honestly say that Lakra did not teach shit. I basically read these slides, read the textbook, and did the self tests =D However, she might redeem herself if she actually does go through with the curving scheme she brought up. Apparently all our classes are at a low class average so she mentioned something about bumping us up a whole letter grade. Did anyone else hear about this?

The grading scale is pretty harsh for this class so that would be awesome!! I didn't hear anything about it though, but I was late for a few classes.
