Ok so, I am looking for some places that do private adult ice skating lessons. I can do inline skates, although not a pro, I am decent at them. But I have never tried ice skating and I would really like to learn. My uncle who is older (around 50'ish) really wants to be able to ice skate as well.

So we are looking for some places that have private lessons for adults, who are complete beginners. Just looking for some suggestions and recommendations for places where we can do this.

Thanks.

There are public learn to skate programs. https://pr1web.ucalgary.ca/CamRecWebPublic/Event/EventList.aspx?treeKey=260W02W21

But don't know if there's private one on one. Just because of the expense. Ice time at around $200 per hour plus the instructors fee...I've never heard of it but it might be out there. Learning to skate is kinda like learning to ride a bike. Ya just have to get out there and do it and eventually it'll come. Elbow pads and wrist guards!!

Use this city of Calgary web page (http://www.calgaryarea.com/calgary_rinks_arenas.htm) for a listing of most of the outdoor rinks and indoor arenas in Calgary - pick an outdoor rink in your area and go out and figure it out per C_Dave45.

Honestly, if you can do inline skates, ice skating isn't that much different. The only real difference is braking/stopping. I'd just go get some skates and head down to olympic plaza and skate around there until you got the hang of it.
