Alright here is the deal. I am looking to get an Ultrastart 4561MXR (Canadian Model), you can compare it to the highest model that they have on their site for the US. All prices are in Canadian, so bear that in mind. To convert to US for comparison, divide by 1.3 (close enough).

This is waht i was quoted for this install, is this typical ? Thing that shocked me was the price of the window modules, and all the labour for the seperate modules. I think it is too much but maybe you guys need to show me the light

Car: 2002 Chev Z24 Standard Transmission

Ultrastart 4561MXR part $369.00 labour approx $200.00

Windows and Sunroof close on Arming part 2x dual module @$129.95=$259.95 labour $50.00

Option to open Sunroof and Windows at push of button while car is still armed (can't you use only one module to perform this ? I don't want to open them individually, I want them all to open and close at the same time) $50.00 labour

Dual Stage Impact Sensor (I think this is already included in alarm from what I saw on the internet) n/c

Proximity Sensor (I didn't see anything so I don't know if it is possible) part $49.95 single $69.95 dual and $35.00 labour

Starter Kill (also included already) part n/c and $ 25.00labour

Others:
passlock 2 module $80.00-$120.00 installed
keyless entry $ 50.00
trunk $ 30.00 parts labour incl.

If you were in Calgary i would say thats quite a bit but prices in Ontario could be different.

well that's all before taxes too - remember I jacked for another 8% provincial sales tax.

My uncle lives in sherwood park, maybe it's time for a roadtrip :)

do you think the amount of labour is called for ? also if you know what do you think the modules should be worth ? i think those should at least be the same. when you add it up it is over a g note.

For "shop rate" that sounds a little high but still acurate.

Well hey gramzee, just wondering if you've already had this work done. If I've totalled you're quotes correctly, you'd be looking at $900-1000 to do this work. If you're interested I can do it alot cheaper. I've got a Sunfire GT I've done all the same work on. You can check it out at www.cardomain.com/id/mbsaudio. The price you've been quoted is rediculous. I would charge $500 for the unit and the bypass all installed including the trunk, keyless entry and starter kill. The window roll up/down woudn't be that much extra. Thats Cnd$ too.

Damn....all I paid for my Compustar was $480 and that was installed with hood, trunk, and door pins along with starter kill and dual stage shock sensor!
