I was talking to a older lady at work, and he told ne her son inlaw was going to have on of his cars in a magazine. She said it was Hod Rod or a Hot rod magazine for foregin car she was not sure.

She said it was a Nissan RB26 and his name is J.W. Lyles

What is a Nissan RB26? She said he told her it was one of 3 engines in the United States. She also said they drove it or had it towed to Califonia Or Las Vagas for work. The car I belive lives in Houston,Texas

Just wondering,

No RB26 is the motor offered in all the Skylines produced from 1989 to 2002

No, there's a difference in engines in R32's, R33's, and R34's.
Displacement goes from 2.0L to 2.6L, and aspiration comes natural or boosted.

1989-2002 GTR's Have a rb26dett Engine. The Were other Engines Offered in the Skyling but only One For the GTR Model.I think they were rb20det(Type M),Rb25de(Gts4?)Rb26Dett(GTR).I Don't think there is a major differance in the Generation Of Skyline GTR Engines From 1989 On..

The 240's came with the SR20's. You can do a swap to put a RB26 in a 240....it's getting to be more and more common.

The RB26DETT is probably one of the most AMAZING motors ever conceived.

There are also other models of RB series motors

I had a RB30ET in my car, there is also RB30E, RB20E, RB30DE, and probably others I can't think of at the moment.

You can also do a RB30/25 conversion which is a RB30 block (more torque) with RB25 head (twin cam - more revs) to produce a bunch of power.

RB30ETs and RB26DETTs are awesome motors, they can produce massive hp and run awesome times. Stock internal RB26 / RB30 turbo cars can run 10s.

So you're saying a stock 240sx has an SR20DET. So i'm not faster than the other 240's, and what I did was just make my car go from stock to stock while blowing an assload of money. Damn it all...

Actually, the 240sx comes with the KA24DE (and I think also a SOHC version), a non turbo, and larger displacement engine. If you are thinking of the 180sx or silvia, only available for purchase in Japan, then yes they do come stock with SR20's. Some of the older ones with CA18's...

I know that 240's don't come with Rb26dett's, I was meaning if that engine was put in a 240sx (hybrid)?
And if this car was in canada?

The V in VQ and VG means its not an inline motor eg) VG30 is a V6. There are money romours of what RB stands for but nobody really knows...
