Hey guys just spent the last hour or so looking for Calgary restaurants to take the girlfriend out to on vday but im having trouble finding something decent. Price isnt a huge object, I just want a place that wont disappoint for a romantic atmosphere and decent food. Looking for people that have gone and had good experiences.

Thanks.

Good enough for 89coupe, good enough for you.

^ Was just gonna say that.

Il Sogno is nothing short of fantastic. Expect a bill of at least 200+ before tip for 2 ppl.

Escoba, great food, romantic atomosphere.

Or Lauriers for fondue, get their fondue experience for 2, starts off with a cheese fondue, then beef or seafood fondue and then a chocolate fondue for dessert. I think this is around $100.00.

Booking 2 weeks before V-Day means you'll be eating pretty late.

Calgary tower is quite romantic, good atmosphere because of the view. The food isn't bad at all, but imo you're paying mostly for the view.

Jacqueline Suzanne's Bistro & Antiquities, great food and nice small place.

If not, Vintage.

You are definately paying for the food. The food isn't worth the price.

+1 for Escoba. My favourite restaurant. Their beef tenderloin in gorgonzola sauce is to die for.

Not to be an ass or anything but that place definitely wouldn't have even made it on my list for places to go/ take into consideration. The first time I went was really good, but the next 2 times after that were really shit. Food and service. You pay a fairly premium dollar for food compareable to Joeys or something.

Lauriers, Alloy, Escoba, Mercatos, Jacqueline Suzannes Bistro, to name a few would be my top choices on my list of places to go.

But good luck, enjoy! :D

If its not too late, try the MUSE restaurant in Kensington.
