So I just setup two monitors and when I went to select two background images, it will only allow one image and it displays it on both screens. Is it possible to have two separate backgrounds?

I assume no dedicated graphics?
Easiest way IMO is to get a graphics card.

You misunderstood the question. He is asking how to display a different wallpaper on each monitor. Windows does not support this natively.

You could make a wallpaper for a resolution of "2560x1024" for instance and have whatever you want on each side then set it as tile mode and that should work.
Ya, just create an image twice the size of your monitor resolution in The GIMP and use that. That's what I did.
