Nice!

Do cell phone pictures count in this thread? I'm in Vegas right now. I brought the DSLR, but found it was a pain to carry around everywhere (ie. I'm too lazy). Took these with the iPhone:

I have some I took with a point and shoot, but I'm not too optomistic about those ones.

Lol. I took a picture of an Omega watch at a jewelery store through the front window and the guy stopped midway with a customer to check what I was up to. :dunno:

LOL, I tried to take a picture of a purse I wanted to buy my fiance one year and the lady got so upset with me, even though I was planning on purchasing it.

First one on public sidewalk with tripod. Second one on platform no tripod. I'm not sure what the policy is regarding photography on Calgary Transit property, but I've done it more than a few times without any issues.

It's nice when things work out like that, I bet you're sure glad you splurged on that lens vs a 16-35 or similar. That is kind of how I feel about my 70-200 VR II, I don't have any equipment that costs nearly as much as that lens but it's on my camera 90% of the time and I'd have paid even more for it after seeing what it can do. Totally changed my shooting experience.

Also very nice pic BTW...quite the contrasting buildings haha.

yup...it's just desaturated though...I could theoretically make it any color I wanted, but in this case all I did was took most of the color out of it.

I attempted a mini shoot with our new little girl today. Lack of sleep as well as a continued recovery from L&D on my part combined with a little one who HATES to be without her clothes made for a bit of a frustrating go of things. I managed 4 painfully similar photos, but they still turned out pretty cute. Considering we actually don't have any "pro" newborn shots of our son, this is actually a small victory in my books :)

I may re-attempt some shots of her in the next few days, but we'll see how things go.

For now, here is Claire, 13 days old

good shot...if you have lightroom I would suggest trying to play with the fill light slider....that one slider could really make the image pop a little more in my opinion :D

My newest purchase, 200mm f2 AIS. Now it just needs to warm up outside.

OMG Gibson, where the hell is that merry go round? I've had a photo project in mind for years using one but after a lot of searching, I was led to believe that they no longer existed in Calgary!

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. Overall, I'm very pleased with how they turned out for my first two couples/engagement sessions. It was a refreshing change from my day-to-day photography.

Gopher, handheld to the max. 1/10 sec I believe it was. It's a tiny bit soft on the full-size version but I'm still happy with it.

Melinda, this is the exact location. I was slightly surprised to see it there too haha, got a little dizzy after making that shot.
