I know this has been discussed before, but can't find it. After using my iphone in the USA with a cdn provider, and a bill that was $780, i started to wonder, is there a better way.

Im thinking of a internet stick prepaid maybe? Im not sure how you would get that to work with a modem.....

For the money you paid go buy an iphone in the states with a year long plan and you would probably still come out even..

That's like walking around the prison without your pants and bending over from time to time.

You can get travel package from your service provider.

Get a unlocked android device and get a data plan through at&t to put it in your phone. Tether and enjoy.

Most providers have a data roaming plan you can add on for $10 a month or so that reduce your data usage to $1/mb instead of $30/mb

Still can add up fast but better $50 for 50mb instead of $1500

It's usually cheaper to just buy a sim and prepaid when you travel.

I remember a couple years ago Rage2 did something similar utilizing unlimited data roaming (IIRC) through Telus. But don't quote me on the exact details.
