04-06 Bmw X5 4.8is

Hey Guys,

I am considering changing my car up in the next little while. Right now the only cars that have me interested are 03+ CL55's, and this the X5 4.8is. I love my current car so much, its a great driver but I just really feel like I am destroying it driving it in the winter here. Plus I like the idea of being able to transport 4 comfortably, Go to the ski hill/strap on a few mountain bikes (roof rack). The CL is a bit of a pipe dream as I feel like I will be in the same spot as I am now if I got one.

The 4.8is really looks like a good balance of everything, and the reliability isn't too bad. Anyone have hands on experiences with them?

my bro has a beautiful 02 4.8, and loves it... eats oil like any BMW, minor mechanical issues, but over a good car.

My dad has a 03 4.6, super awesome, needed some some expensive maintainence, but super reliable and drives like a dream on the highways.

I also have a 03 4.6is. Its a son of a bitch to have it fixed but some how it seems worth it. I love it to death =)
