^^ No, just CTV. The car commercial at the retirement home was pretty good. I can't wait to see the Captain America tv spot.

Out of the 5 feeds I have on Shaw cable, all standard def channels (including Fox) have Canadian commercials, CTV HD has Canadian commercials, but both Fox feeds (203 and 208 in Victoria at least) are untouched US feeds.

Couple decent ones so far -"Hit em with the Kenny G"

 at the Chevy one. "How did you get trapped in the belly of a whale?!?!"

Transformers was good. Only cities that have CTV HD miss out on US feed.

Which bud light commercial ran? The BL commercial I shot was rumored to be a superbowl commercial.

Everyone with HD American stations should get the American commercials, unless they're in the Toronto viewing area.

SD feeds are all substituted with Canadian ads.

Sort of. that only works if you have sattelite I think, if you are on cable you always have the local HD CTV feed, so you would have to be in an area that dosn't have a CTV feed for that to work. I know I have Shaw Direct and I can watch it on Fox HD with the american commercials because the only HD CTV that Shaw Direct has is CTV Toronto, so it dosn't apply to me. I could be wrong about the cable thing though.

HD American stations, so cable tv subscribers with Fox HD should still get the American commercials.

Oh, I was under the impression that since there is a CTV calgary feed in HD we got stuck with that HD simsub. Even the HD channels from the states get simsubed for most TV shows anyway if you have the local feed. Again, I don't have cable so I'm not sure.

I stand corrected, The FOX HD channel will have the American commercials. Just asked a buddy of mine. My bad, carry on :)

Maybe for satellite but in Calgary and any other city that has an HD station, CTV will simulcast.

If I didn't have a bad history with Chrysler, that would definitely get me to take a look.

Not so for me. I have Bell ExpressVu and watched the game on FOX HD and it was definitely interjected with the CTV broadcast.

So if cable operator have a local signal with the same quality as US signal, it'll be replaced. HD on Shaw showed US feeds until CTV and Global went HD.

I guess for Bell, they just do it since all markets share the same signals.

I'd say most of the commercials were average ads on their own, let alone being part of the superbowl. Mercedes disappointed with the dumb new family of cars spot, Best buy was terrible as well. Only a few good ones i.e. Audi rich people spot, the chevy camaro ad was creative. Another good one was the Motorola Xoom Tablet ad, it took a crack at the 1984 Apple ad where everyone had pc's. Although I felt they could have taken it a step further its not like the majority of the viewers are going to know that.

The Doritos commercials were good.

KIA spent a lot on their special effects.

But I agree, most of the ads were weak. They got even weaker as the game went on.

I mean just dropping a celeb into your commercial doesn't make it a hit.

Best one was the VW commercial with mini-Vader. Overall, the commercials were pretty weak this year if you ask me.
